LOL!
Nice fail by the Beavers trying to take attention away from the Ducks today!

I thought for sure he was coming back to play one more year with his brother. Damn it!
Wow. Bad news for the Beavers and a seemingly stupid decision by Rodgers.
Ed O.
Hilarious. He picked TODAY of all days to declare? A little bitter, Quizz?
Stupid how? If he's projected as a 2nd-3rd round pick based solely on his height, what does he gain by coming back?
Is he projected as a 2nd- or 3rd-rounder based solely on his height?
I find that hard to believe. If a team is going to be willing to spend a 2nd or 3rd rounder on a RB, it seems they'd want to get a guy who could be a feature back, and if he has a stronger year then he has a chance to go in the first round.
If teams see him as limited, I doubt he'll fare much better than, say, Darren Sproles (#130 overall) did.
Guess we'll see how it works out for him.

NFL draft experts have said Quizz won’t necessarily improve his draft prospects by returning for his senior year.
They think he might be locked in as a second or third-round pick.
It is also unlikely that the news out of Oregon Thursday that LaMichael James is returning for his junior season will make any different to what Quizz decides.
Rob Rang of NFLDraftScout.com emailed Thursday that “nothing has changed in scouts' minds on Rodgers. … there are expected to be several underclassmen running backs declare early.
“Mark Ingram at Alabama, Ryan Williams from Virginia Tech, Mikel LeShoure at Illinois, and potentially Chris Polk from Washington are the four backs that I could see going ahead of Rodgers, which keeps his stock in the mid-second to mid-third round.
“His stock isn't likely to change this year (or next) due to the fact that the only real question about him is his height, which obviously isn't going to change.’’

If he goes in the second round? I can't fault the guy. If he slips to the fourth or fifth round, then I think it was a stupid move because he could have potentially gotten there with another good year.
Ed O.
What if he goes in the 3rd round?

The fail goes to any Duck fan who thinks this has something to do with them. Believe it or not, Eugene is not the center of the universe and not everyone gives a rip about the ducks.
Bummer to lose Quizz -- anyone who watched him had to love the way he played for the Beavs. I've got a friend of a friend who knows him and I've been hearing that fatherhood played a big role in the decision. Who knows if it's true, but I'd understand it. Best of luck to you, Quizz. We'll see you on Sundays.
Lets get real here for a second. Of all the days he can choose to enter, he does it the morning of the day that the Ducks are about to play in the National Title game.
Something is suspicious about that.
Apparently it upset the Ducks so much that they lost. They need to focus better, if this mattered in even the slightest way. [Which, I doubt it actually did.]

I'd guess the combine will reveal these two to be substantially different as far as speed. Drew is/was really really fast posting a blazing electronically measured 40 time of 4.39 seconds at his combine, which made him the fastest RB in his class. Jacquizz seems to have okay speed at best. I'd guess he comes in at his combine in the 4.6 range. Despite having months to focus on the combine tests (like the 40) it's pretty common for players to post higher times at the combine then their collegiate media guide claim & the draft sites echo... we shall see whats really what on thisQuizz is virtually the same height and weight as Maurice Jones-Drew was in college. Their stats are almost exactly the same as well. Oh, and their 40 times are the same.
why use the plural here? MZ seems to care, but no other Duck fan here has chimed in. Personally I couldn't have cared less about the timing of his announcement. My reaction on hearing this was... good for him. I didn't give it a second thought until I saw this threadHonestly, I don't even get why you guys care. If the roles had been reversed and OSU and played last night, I wouldn't have given a rip about a UO player making a similar announcement. Would've been focused on the game my own guys were playing.
You're missing the point -- yesterday was big to you because you're apparently a Duck fan. To anyone else, it was pretty much another Monday. The idea that Quizz woke up thinking, 'ha, ha I'm going to steal some news from the Ducks and make my announcement today" is really pretty ridiculous.
At most, I could imagine he wanted to minimize the limelight on himself as much as possible when he made the announcement and figured he'd make the announcement when a lot of the local press was out of state.
Honestly, I don't even get why you guys care. If the roles had been reversed and OSU and played last night, I wouldn't have given a rip about a UO player making a similar announcement. Would've been focused on the game my own guys were playing.
