April 29, 2006 -- Adidas' hottest new sneakers are being kicked to the curb. The trendy sportswear line released a sneaker with a slant-eyed, bowl-cut, bucked-tooth caricature of an Asian man popping off of the tongue earlier this month, enraging critics who dubbed the shoe racist. Now, in response to pressure from the Asian-American community, the sneaker is being pulled from shelves. "Out of respect to those offended and to demonstrate our deep commitment to inclusiveness and diversity, we have chosen to pull the remaining shoes from the marketplace," Adidas said in a letter to Queens Assemblyman Jimmy Meng, an outspoken critic of the sneaker. Called the Y1-HUF and part of the company's "Yellow Series," the shoe immediately sold out in New York, owners said. It retails for $250 and is already going for $350 on eBay. "People lined up for them," said a clerk at sneaker shop Dave's Quality Meat in the East Village. "They were gone right away." But the Asian community was not impressed. "It's the most egregious appearance of racism on a commercial product recently," said Queens City Councilman John Liu, whose district includes a large Asian population. "They need to not only dispose of this defective product, but accept the responsibility for this serious mistake." angela.montefinise@nypost.com

What surprizes me is the people who waited in line to get them. Those are some ugly ass shoes and did Justblaze make those?

</div>Haha, yeah that's my brainchild, the buck toothed Asian shoe lol

What??? Did Asian people make those? Otherwise that is very racist to say the least.

lmao I want them just so Asians feel bad that my shoes are better then theirs AND it's mocking them as well.

That shoe isn't better looking than a whole lot, so I doubt that would be the case.

Yeah but why would an Asian want a degrading image of himself on his shoe?
