Tensions flare offstage in Paul/Conway Senate debate

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Tensions flared at the senatorial candidates' debate here Monday night in two confrontations between Conway and Paul supporters, Lexington police reported.

The first involved a woman who is a member of www.moveon.org and who was determined to pose in front of Rand Paul holding a sign that read "Rand Paul Republicore: Employee of the Month." According to police, the woman, identified by The Associated Press as Lauren Valle, said she tripped and fell on the ground after someone grabbed her blonde wig off her head.

She was then stepped on by a man wearing a Rand Paul t-shirt. Police say she refused treatment and later filed an assault report. Her identity has not yet been released.

The second occurred after a Conway supporter stepped on the foot of a female Rand supporter, who recently had foot surgery, according to police.

The woman was wearing a surgical boot, but after the injury, her incision was cut open.

Why isn't crandc defending the second woman mentioned in this article? Why is it assumed the violence was all on one side?

Name names. Don't be a coward with such a bullshit statement.

I'm going to go out on a limb here, and assume she isn't talking about you.

Violence has no place in politics. I hope these people are charged with assault.

Agreed. And dragged behind a '57 Chevy PU, tarred and feathered, then stoned to death.

Why is she wearing a wig?

The larger tragedy is that this election is between 2 equally stupid and evil conmen who will each betray their constituents if elected.

It doesn't matter. It's a cheap tactic to try to paint those with which you disagree with a broad, vague brush of hatred.

I've watched both videos and the conclusion I come to is that your comprehension abilities are severely under-developed.

Aw, honey. It's sweet that you're trying to create an opening to come into my life, but I just don't swing that way.

I wonder if you think the lady who rushed the SUV and hit Paul with a sign should be charged with assault? I haven't seen you comment on the video that I posted of what preceded the lady being "assaulted".

I don't think that video has anything to do with the statement you just quoted from maxiep. Not even close.

Take a breath and calm down.

She walked up and showed him the sign.

No contact was made.

The only "rusher" was the guy who tackled her.

There was a huge debate about this on Boston.com. I'm all for Paul's crew detaining this woman as she was apparently yelling and charging the candidate. However, once she's down with a guy on top of her and another stepping on her shin, it gets excessive. The punk who stomps her and appears to knock her out should be prosecuted.

At the same time though, I'm wondering where his security detail was located. He seems to have someone around with him, but why wasn't anyone watching out behind him?

The guys stomping her ARE his security detail, and like Paul himself, are rank amateurs.

As I said in a previous post, additional evidence is making me re-examine my initial reaction

http://legalinsurrection.blogspot.com/2010/10/new-video-exposes-false-narrative-of.html

My initial point was that violence has no place in politics and those that engage in that sort of behavior need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. I don't care which side that violence is on.

A woman who is assaulted is always asking for it.

According to some here, anyway.

Can't ever talk about an issue without bringing up gender eh crandc?

ANYWAY, as others have mentioned, security should've been better, and that guy should be charged.

Also, think that people trying to make negative statements at opponents' rallies don't really belong (and do more harm for their cause by drawing negative attention), but that's another can of worms all together.

Aw, honey. It's sweet that you're trying to create an opening to come into my life, but I just don't swing that way.

Why do you always do that? What do you hope to accomplish by talking down to people and patronizing them?

Don't you realize that even if your point is valid people will disagree with you because you're acting like a pompous ass?
