NTC, you know why they have weight classes in MMA, right?

GPA's and Ranks

Well most of you guys are in college by now or even out of college, but I was interested in knowing you guys' GPA's out of 6 and your ranks when you graduated from High School. Also, how many of you guys are in the Top 5% or Top 10%.

I am going to be a Sopohmore next year, and my GPA during my Freshmen year's first semester was a 4.4 and my rank was 143 out of 1588 kids. I guess thats pretty good since I was in Top 10% but I sure do want to do better.

So what Ranks and what GPA did you guys graduate with in high school?

<div class="quote_poster">Voodoo Child Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">NTC, you know why they have weight classes in MMA, right?</div>

Yes, for different weight classes, lol. So you dont have a 100lb guy fighting a 250lb guy, but thats a bad example of what you're trying to say, because they're trained fighters, not just some jerk gym junkie looking to cause trouble, like I said it all depends on wether igotask8board can fight or not.

Umair, nah, I posted that photo for you

Am I Right or Wrong?

Me and some of my "friends" (I use the term loosely) started a Recreational basketball team about a year ago, we've been playing for 3 seasons now. Only 3 of us have some decent basketball experience behind us (myself included) and there is no coaching figure.

I've recentley come under fire from my team mates for being "too negative", and they want to kick me off the team. Every game we go out on the court, we run stupid plays, play weak/no defense, silly turnovers and moronic shot attempts, so I'm the only one who cares enough to speak up about it, and they all turn on me.

Last Sunday one of our players turned up with the wrong shorts on, which is a violation of the uniform policy, and is a 5 point deduction from our score, so naturally I was pissed off before the game had even begun (considering if we had of won the game by 4 points, we would end up losing since this guy was too incompetent to bring the right shorts which he had a week to prepare for), so I was fired up from the get go. The first quater was ok, we were pretty close at the end of the first, but after that it all went to ****. So at half time I spoke up: "C'mon guys, we've beaten this team by almost 20 points before, we can ALL play much better than this, we were just doing so down at the park before the game against better opposition than this! We always say 'ok lets do this and that' then agree to it, but we never go out and actually do it!", they started barking back at me as if I was attacking them all, and we eventually went on to lose the game.

So fast forward to today, I get a phone call from one of my team mates saying that everyone thinks I'm too negative, and that one of the other guys is bringing in some new guys to the team (in other words to replace me). I dont really even care that much that they dont want me on the team so much as the fact he had the nerve to tell me I dont play with any effort! (We played 14 games, I fouled out of 6 of them, with close calls in 3 others, and I'm the only one who ever stays back on Defense and hustles for rebounds) Thats what pisses me off most.

Anyway, I want your opinions, does that sound like being "too negative" to you? Are my team mates just weak minded pussies who cant bare to hear the truth? Or am I just a negative jerk?

So tonight was disastrous, I was so out of it.

1) I got the ugliest chick in California to kiss my cheek, had her grind all over me, and then...to top it off, out of no where she says I need to get laid and grabs my balls and caresses them. Not f'ing cool, f'ing disgusting to say the least.

2) I had a homosexual hit on me for about 5 minutes. I was a few seconds from starting some hate crap.

3) I passed on this mighty fine Asian broad, three average white broads, and one more that will be point number 4. I hesitated with the Asian because I was struck by how f'n good she looked. The other three, eh...

4) This girl walks from across the club, and asks me what time it is. I'm in the middle of texting my boy, so I'm kind of pissed off. So I freakin' give her my phone. She goes....oh, um...ok...thank you. After she started walking away, it then struck me that she wanted to f'ing dance with me. I'm such a moron.

5) The one girl I had my eyes on was hot as ****, danced with her for awhile, but I just left because I couldn't get the nasty dike away from me. I'm going to have my home girl hook us up for a date though, they're best friends.

No. If nobody speaks up, things will never change. I myself was a playing coach for a team with players in my age last season. Even though it's hard to get everyones attention and respect, you have to convince them that what you are saying is for their own good. In order to get the message through, you have to practise what you preach. Tell them that everyone should offer constructive critcism to each other, and not get mad when they are are told something. Don't question past acts too much (unless it's something really stupid), but instead, try telling them in a nice way that "the next time you are in that situation, try doing this (the right action) in stead".

From my own experience, I know that from my own experience, making negative comments (insulting or emarassing someone infront of the others) will bring the whole team down. If someone keeps doing the same mistake over and over again (for example, I had a guy who would chuck up threes almost every time he would get the ball, sometimes even on a fast break), then point out his mistake over and over again infront of the team, and try to get them to cuss him out too.

My GPA went from 3.2 freshman year when I wasn't trying to 4.1 this year when my parents flipped out on me.

Freshman year I would just joke around and I didn't really care about my grades. I was mainly at school to mess around and for social reasons and my parents got pissed off because they said they weren't paying for me to not try. So sophomore year I worked harder and bumped it up.

Yeah, some people have ridiculous GPA's and they're always the ones who say they're dumb so that people tell them, "No, you're so smart!" It's like they need attention or something.

There is this one girl who has a perfect GPA in my school but she has like one friend, never does anything with friends, and doesn't fit in because all she cares about is her grades. She got a 90 and it brought her 99% down to a 97% and she cried in class. Now I'm all for getting good grades and getting a scholarship but that's ridiculous. She has so much pressure on her, from herself and her parents most likely, that if she gets a low A she feels bad about it. That's just horrible and honestly, she's not taking as much out of high school as I am since I'm getting the social aspect too. If I did nothing but study and do homework, I could have her grades too. But I'm getting the social skills that she's not and I'll be able talk to people and make friends throughout my life while she'll probably struggle.

She will have less of a life than now when she is in the senior grades. I know people like that in High School and I feel sorry for them, because there is no way you can get perfect on everything come University. It's life, people really need to live a little. Jobs and careers are really important, but there are a lot of things left in life to explore.

Anyway, today was my yearbook and report card pick-up day. It was only from 9-11 that you could pick it up, but in fitting fashion, I ended up waking up late for school one last time (I didn't mean to), and woke up exactly at 11. I had to rush my sister to drop me off to school and when I got there, the office wouldn't let me pick up the yearbook and told me to come back on Tuesday. So, most of my friends were there (some of em already left), so I just got a peice of paper and got them to sign it lmao. Better than nothing at least. What a stupid way to end high school. I don't wanna come back on Tuesday cause I'm going to be in Toronto...I think I'll just get one of my friends to pick it up for me.

I just remembered that tonight while we're all enjoying the majority of the Draft, once in a while that loud ******* idiot Dick Vitale will have to annoy the hell out of me with his nonsense. The guy knows little about the sport and every year compliments the players that end up being flukes or has-beens. He always puts down foreign players no matter who they are because he knows absolutely nothing about them. I remember him saying that the Bucks were better off with Robert Traylor in that trade we'll never forget. Why do they keep this guy? He's the most annoying human being I've ever seen. I mute the damn TV because of his monotone and loud idiotic nonsense blabbing.

Vitale. I wish someone would bring up Bargnani and Adam Morrison when he shows up.

Yeah, that's the guy, damn. Who the hell is Dick Bavetta then?

* EDIT: Ah yeah that's right, that old referee that wanted to have his 15 minutes at the ASG.
