See this is what I'm talking about in regards to dumb humour, how on earth that is funny is beyond me. As I read somewhere, Homer Simpson has just become a parody of himself.
 
I work in the photo center at Walgreens, and today four different old ladies had me scan/edit/print pictures for them. The kiosk is supposed to be for self-use. And the entire time, all I hear is stories about their grandkids. Sigh. It's a pretty cool job though, I work with a hot girl who I learned is also a big fan of Brand New. I think I shall invite her to the upcoming concert with me once I talk to her more. Poop.
 
The Simpsons up to about Season 6 or 7 were by far the funniest cartoon on T.V. I found as the Simpsons started going downhill, cartoons like Futurama and Family Guy were there to be as funny as the Simpsons used to be. However, even Family Guy started resorting to stupid humour after a while, and I never really caught on to Futurama.

The Simpsons is pretty stupid nowadays. I just watched an episode with the planes in Springfield changing thier flight routes and flying over the Simpsons house. After about 15 minutes, I switched and watched something else cause some of the jokes were so stupid it was annoying me. Especially Homer's stupidity.

My favourite episode would probably have to be the one about the lemon tree from Shelbyville though. Everything about the episode was perfect. I also liked Homer vs. NYC where the Simpsons go to New York. Unfortunetly, they don't really show that episode anymore since a good portion of the episode centers around the twin towers (episode was made 1997 or so I believe). Luckily though, I have the episode on tape somewhere and whenever I go back and check out my old recordings and that episode comes up, it's always a fun watch.

I remember growing up I used to love Seinfeld, Fresh Prince and the Simpsons. I don't really watch that much T.V nowadays but it seems like there is nothing but reality shows, game shows, serious dramas or stupid comedy whenever I turn it on.

Hater. Simple comedy is much more than the dumb jokes. It's the delivery and the expressions that make the joke. Look at Dane Cook, he's a terrible comedian. Don't buy his cd's, they suck. But I'll watch some live performances because his delivery and facial expressions make the joke.

Family Guy was amazing the first three seasons, now it doesn't even make sense at all. Where as before there were plots, now there are so many cut off plots that nothing seems to tie together in the end. Futurama is tied with the Angry Beavers for my favorite cartoons of all-time. I love much older stuff too, but those two I can watch any time any day and always enjoy it.

For television sitcoms I absolutely love Frasier. At first I thought it was annoying as hell with those two rich psych jackass brothers, but after a while it caught on and for years now I still can't get enough of this show. I own every season on DVD. I loved the plots to just about every episode because they were often refreshing and new. Yet, still holding that charm that Cheers had only funnier and more intelligent.

In fact, I'm going to watch a Frasier episode right now.

Angry Beavers was one of my favourite shows of all-time as well. As a kid, when it came to kiddy cartoons, Pinky & the Brain, Doug and Angry Beavers were my favourites. I remember I made a thread a while back about my favourite shows as a kid, it was a good trip down memory lane.

For some reason, I could never hold myself to watch Fraiser. Something about the show has always annoyed me.

In fact, I was like that with King of the Hill as well, but one time I actually sat and watched an entire episode and it was actually pretty funny. The humour is quite bland and definetly not as funny as the Simpsons or Family Guy, but I can understand why a lot of other people like it.

As far as sitcoms go, I was a huge fan of Seinfeld, even though I hated it's last 2 or so seasons. I never really caught on to Friends (although I watch it once in a while nowadays), and other than Seinfeld, Fresh Prince was the only other sitcom that actually made me want to watch it.
 
Yeah Frasier was pretty funny, I always got a kick out of Niles.
 
King of the Hill is underrated too.

My favourite Simpsons is probably the one where Homer gives up church. I tend to change it around, based on which one I've seen lately, but that one's always awesome.

For people in the US, have you guys always gotten a channel called AMC? I think my cable company just started picking it up this year and I love it. So many great movies.
 
Yes, we have it I believe. Great channel...if it's the one I'm thinking of.
 
AMC is alright, but it was actually much better years ago when it was completely commercial free during the films.

They really do recruit a hell of a lot of white guys though. I'm almost suspecting Coach K goes after them over more qualified black players. Just look at some of their big name guys: Christian Laettner, J.J. Redick, Bobby Hurley, Mike Dunleavy, Jr., etc.; and in modern times: Jon Scheyer, Brian Zoubek, Josh McRoberts, Greg Paulus, Marty Pocius, Kyle Singler, etc.; it's like 9 out of 10 white McDonalds All-Americans wind up at Duke.

I'm honestly surprised you got King of the Hill. To me, a lot of their jokes are sort of inside jokes that only southerners would catch onto.

Yeah thats what I always thought too, their style is alot more subtle than say a Family Guy or Simpsons too.

I always thought King of the Hill was meant to have more of a message to it rather than trying to be funny, I dont think I've ever laughed while watching it.
 
I am addicted to meatballs and pasta. Not because it tastes extraordinarily, but because it's quick too cook, cheap and doesn't require any creativeness. I've been eating it almost every day for lunch for several weeks now, and the bad thing is that the money has been coming out of my own pocket the last two weeks.

Hartman was originally supposed to be the voice for Fry among many others in Futurama. Billy West has done an excellent job in his place though and it is nice to see Billy dedicating some voice overs to Hartman. The most specific one being Zapp Brannigan obviously who sounds almost exactly like Lionel Hutz. Poor Phil, I'm still shocked about what happened to him.

How badly do sprinters want to win the green jersey in the Tour de France? Look for yourself. This is 1991 and Djamolidine Abdujaparov is in the green. He crashes out going 70 kpm and most notably annihilates his pelvis. What does he do? He gets up and finishes to retain that damn jersey. That's hardcore. Be sure to watch the overhead reply towards the end.

Also, Borat crashed the Tour this year waving that Astana jersey (Kazakh sponsored team).
 
Billy West is also the Jackie Puppet on the Howard Stern Show, what I've always thought was a very annoying character. He's been really good for Futurama though. I think he does the Professor and Zapp Brannigan. Zoiberg sounds like him too, but I'm not sure if that's him, so don't quote me on it.

Did anyone else like the kids show Hey Arnold from the late 90's? That was right when I stopped watching Nickelodeon, but I have younger siblings, so I still wound up catching a lot of it. I don't know why they cancelled it.
 
I only liked Angry Beavers, Doug, Ren & Stimpy and Rocko's Modern Life from old Nickelodeon. That is a horrible network now. They cancelled Hey Arnold just like they cancelled the Angry Beavers. Nickelodeon only wants shows for up to a certain amount of episodes and then drops them no matter the popularity. The only one they ever brought back for more episodes was the Rugrats. That's why I hate Nickelodeon because not only will they not make any more AB eps, but they won't release them on DVD or air the episodes anymore because they "don't like them." The last episode was never aired because it insulted Nickelodeon's way of handling cartoons and their creators. BTW, Billy West does the voicework for almost all of the characters for Futurama including Fry, the professor, Zoidberg, etc.

I found a sound clip from part of that Angry Beavers episode that never aired. Listen to it here. I love how they stick it to those bastards.
 
Doug is my favorite cartoon of all time...I'd kill to have it on DVD!
 
Rocko's modern life was the best show ever. I miss it so much. Nickelodeon has all these stupid shows on now.
 
Yeah, Nickelodeon was tight back then. I had a lot of favorite shows on that network. Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Doug, and I used to watch All That. Also, does anyone still remember the show Rocket Power? That show got me into my mini skateboard phase which lasted like 1 year. lol

I don't know what's on that network now, but it seems like crap

I think I was just chilling on campus but I remember talking to Lindsey Harding a little bit. I remember I had a dream in December of 2005 that the Knicks traded for Steve Francis. Then a few months later he was traded to the Knicks. A few weeks ago I had a dream the Knicks traded for Jason Richardson. I don't think that's coming true though, lol.

I remember all those shows. They were the best. Especially Rugrats and Doug
 
Nick Nick Nick, Hey Arnold and Rocket Power were my favs. When I was younger I used to watch Little Bear and Gullah Gullah Island lmao.

The only show I watch on Nick now is Drake and Josh. They're like the white Kenan and Kel.
