Another note on the club thing, there's nothing that annoys me more than girls dancing with each other the whole night. Like seriously, get the fuck off your girls and just dance by yourself, and the guys will come to you. I dont get that mentality, cause if you're in a club, you KNOW sooner or later you're gonna be asked to dance....what's the point of making yourself look unavailable by dancing with your girls for the whole damn night?

If you put two and two together, you'd obviously figure out that they are lesbians. But obviously not everyone is as smart as Brian!

Some of my friends that are girls say this is because they just want to dance and want nothing to do with a guy that night. Take that for what its worth.

Awesome avator, DBZ is one of the best TV shows ever made, It was like the coolest thing to like back in 3rd grade.

Re: Random Thought Thread

Yeah, I figured they just wanna "dance the stress away" as Cook would say, but still, it's annoying. Last week I was dancing with some chick who danced with me for 3/4 of a song and than was like "oh shit, I have a boyfriend" and walked off lol. It was hilarious, but that kinda shit is just wierd. If you have a boyfriend, either dance with your b/f or make it obvious that you're taken. A simple "no" would be great.

A couple of random thoughts. Now that I'm back home, I'm downloading songs like CRAZY. We can't download shit off things like limewire at the campus cause if they book you, you lose your internet or w.e, so it's not worth the risk. My rez internet dude told me to download DC++ but I don't feel like doing that, so I'll just download a shit load of songs when I come home, which is what I'm doing right now. Man, I was just sitting reading Frankenstein for most of the day today. Tommorow I'll tackle the chapter readings for my other courses but Frankenstein is a great book. I read it in grade 11 as well, but I love the story as a whole. Totally different from the perception of Frankenstein that is known in general to those who haven't read the book.

There's going to be a week dedicated to just Catcher In The Rye sometime in November I think...I can't wait for that. The wierd part is I actually read that book when I was 12 years old for some reason, and liked it, although I'm quite confident I didn't really grasp it as well as I would now.As far as downloading music goes, it's wierd how my taste has changed over time. I used to HATE, I mean absolutely HATE club (rap/r&B)music before cause I found it "lyrically stupid" (no shit), but now I'll get a club song strictly for the beat. On top of that, my roomate is a pure club guy and he listens to all the songs with nice beats so I'm starting to adapt to his songs as well. I also downloaded some songs off Graduation, and Champion, Flashing Lights, Drunk & Hot Girls (I love it! lol) and Homecoming are my favourites, on top of the obvious two (CTMN and Stronger). I esepcially love Homecoming for some reason. This is completely different from the above part of my post, but to those of you who are/were in University, would you say your first year is the most difficult one due to the adaptation factor, or would you say it's easier?

Re: Random Thought Thread

dude, download DC++ I swear to you its the greatest thing ever. On campus you get songs downloaded in seconds (at least at my campus where we have OC3). Seriously you will not regret it

Re: Random Thought Thread

By the way, Freshman year was definitely the hardest to adapt to, I never studies in high school and pulled out a 3.9 GPA, now I have to study my ass off in College, a total change. The lower level 100-200 classes seem harder to me than the 300-400 level classes because the lower level classes had more busy work. What university do you go to if you don't mind me asking?

Yeah, I heard it was fast as hell, too. My friend downloaded Superbad in like 2 minutes or something, the speed was somethign like 8 mbs per second. Maybe I'll install it when I get back...apperently I should only join the University network.

Igot tothe University of Waterloo, it's inCanada, about an hour away from Toronto.

Remember that hair falling off problem I talked about a couple of pages back? My mom is saying it could probably be due to the change of water or somethinglike that. I'm pretty sure the water there is chlorinated to some extent, while the water at home is not since we have a shower filter, so I'm having difficulty adapting to thechange or something. If that's the case then that really sucks for me, since I have no idea how long it's going to take my hair to get adapted tothewater, if ever.

Oh, why is the site not letting me upload an .gif avatar? I was putting up a small one of Ronaldo and it said "invalid file format" or something like that?

Chutney answered it, but I'm Jewish. But I'm not big on following the holidays. I mean I had a bar mitzvah when I was 13, but since then, I've never been to Synagogue or anything.

My Media Studies teacher made us write about Rosh Hashanh or Ramadan, which some people didn't agree with. But I don't argue stuff like that.

This weekend I'm going to the BJCC, Chutney might now where that is, to play some indoor ball. It is a great place to play in the summer. In the winter I go to a place called Antibis Community Centre aka ACC! Lol, there is great completion there.

Can't wait till January 6th, I get my G2 that day, and I'll be able to drive anywhere. Most off all, it will be easier to go see girls, because they all live like 20-30 minutes away from my house driving, so it will be sweet. I have my 10th lesson tomorrow for driving school, that means only 3 more and I'm done.

Most girls at my school are really stuck up and bitchy, which I hate. They are mostly rich and they act so snobby. I've lived in Toronto for 13 years and I go back every week, and I like it so much more there then Richmond Hill or King City. I really don't like it that much up here, everything is far and hard to get to. Even the McDonald's is like 20 minute walk. Toronto has buses, and subway and everything is close.

Well, I'm done rambling about my day and thoughts, time for sleep. I can barley wake up in the morning, and I always have to catch the bus, which I hate to.

Great avatar Shake. I love Jewish people because I get more days off from school due to their holidays.
ohmy.gif

Thanks bud. Yea, all my friend take the Jewish holidays off too. It's so funny, my 3 year old bro, goes to a Jewish school in Toronto near Promenade ( A mall) and they have every Jewish holiday off, so he goes to daycare only 1 week out of the whole september month, and every month theer is some holiday that takes up time. It's funny because we pay so much for it.

Oh, Chutney, I can't agree more. I love Toronto so much more then where I live. But I'm lucky I can come down every weekend. Saturday is BJCC ball time, you should come Chutney, and anyone else that lives in Toronto, if you want to go, just PM me or ask in the RTT, and I'll post directions. I'l be the one dunking...lol.

Re: Random Thought Thread

lol. I usually play at Hart House on the UofT campus. It's close by and I can fit in a couple hours between classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Maybe I'll come down one day when I actually get good again (I just started playing this week after like a year off and I'm soo rusty). Btw, I also gotta thank Judaism for giving me a Friday off. My prof cancelled class because she celebrated Rosh Hoshana.

I saw a subway train decked out in ads for the new Raptors season and it just got me amped. I was just sitting down on the bench when a big picture of Bargnani slides by. And inside they had all these cool action shots with inspirational slogans. MLSE really seems to have focused on the Raps now that they've got the entire city optimistic again.

"21st Century Schizoid Man" is an awesome workout song. Especially the middle part.

I find awkward brown dudes that try to hit on girls for the first time in university to be the funniest thing. I know I'm an ass for laughing at other people like that, but they remind me of the Pepe LePeu episodes from Looney Tunes. The girl'd be desperately trying to escape like the cat who accidentally spilled paint over itself, but the awkward brown dude won't get the hint and'll keep spouting ridiculously lame pickup lines. Plus, the awkward brown dude usually smells too.

Re: Random Thought Thread

You mean refs? Or nerds? Refs are usually not shy, they'll spout off anything and try to pick up whoever. and don't get the hint that the girls think they're disgusting.

Re: Random Thought Thread

Yea, usually refs. But, in general, I'm referring to any repressed brown dude that's finally experiencing social freedom in university and has no idea how to handle it (I'm sure this applies to a lot of other cultures too, but I see brown ones more often).

Fuck, I can't stand Lil Wayne's voice AT ALL. The dude still sounds like a kid going through puberty and his rapping style is annoying as fuck.

The only verse I'e heard from him that I can stand is his verse from "Speaker" with Akon, he has some nice lines in that song, I won't lie.

I dunno, I just don't get the big deal about him.

There was a poster sale at our Uni this past week, and I ended up getting two Ali posters. They had some amazing posters there though, but the ones that caught my eye were these ones:

Scarface...this poster was created using the entire script of the movie, and apperently it was all hand-written.

I ended up getting these two:

I absolutely love the second one, especially the last line (hence my usertitle).

Re: Random Thought Thread

So I'm off to Vegas on Sunday. Pretty crazy, 1st time I'll be there where I can go crazy and gamble/drink/go to the clubs. Should be quite the interesting trip if I do say so my self. I'm going with a bunch of friends so we should have a great time. Everything seems cool except for the plane ride, yeah I'm terrified of flying in planes. So I can pretty much assure myself I'm going to have an anxiety attack up in the air which sucks. Just something about knowing if something was to happen while in the air, you can pretty much kiss your life goodbye scares me. I know more people die in cars every year, but I feel more comfortable feeling like I have control when I'm driving on the freeway.

Re: Random Thought Thread

Brown = South Asian...around here, "brown" pretty much refers to indians, pakistanis, bengalis, sri lankans, nepali's, etc.

Refs = people who just came from a south asian country recently, and either dress, act, or smell in that manner. They probably have an obvious accent and dress in clothing that no one over here would ever rock. I'm talkin tight jean jackets and pants with hair combed to the side using oil, shit like that.

I've never heard the term "ref" used in Canada to anyone other than brown people. When people here think of "refs", the image is strictly a brown person.

In Miami, ref refers to immigrants fresh off the boat/plane-ride who don't know English that well and are low class. People are always hating on Hispanic refs over here (sometimes justly but most of the time it goes way overboard).
