They are snake bit will see if they can turn it around. I will say many people came out saying they cant handle big physical teams like the Kings and Bruins. That simply is not true based on these games lately. Rangers should have easily won this game 4-1. Bruins were playing 2nd of back to back and were dominated but cannot score

Where is 2009 who came on saying the Rangers have great scoring depth and don't need a trade cuz they scored 4 goals 3 x in a row earlier.

Losing that game was a joke. Completely dominated and just couldn't find the back of the net. Boston deserved nothing but to have their asses kicked tonight. Positives is that nash looked good and we have 2 good lines now and Kreider continues to do everything except put the damn puck in the net. I think CK could have legitimately had 4 or 5 goals tonight. Chara has a couple more games with the rangers before big mac gets up here and breaks that friggin stork in two.

The difference as usual against Boston is they have a 4th line that makes a difference, we have a fighter, a big slowpoke and D. Moore. Rask also outplays Lundqvist almost every time he faces him.

I thought the magic genie was going to make this team am instant offensive juggernaut lol

You could say the same thing about every team that plays the Rangers SC

Think about it....We get killed by losers like no other team.

2 more words: Torey Krug

Al, the diff IMO is last year we never had a chance to score a goal our puck movement and offense sucked so bad. This year we are getting a million scoring opportunities and just haven't buried them yet. Totally bummed out losing this game that we dominated.

There was plenty bbq if games the rangers had tons of shot and no goals. They are not deep enough talent wise. Just like the previous reign of terror

I was at the game, aside from the rangers dominating the only highlights were the 80$ my girlfriend found on the bathroom floor (which paid for all our 10$ beers) and the rangers fans that got thrown out for berating some Bruins fans.

Either the Rangers are the unluckiest team in the history of hockey EVERY SINGLE SEASON, or we need more players who can actually score goals. I will go with the latter.

Year after year we post the same stuff. Bad luck. Snake bitten. Hit posts. Deflections just miss. On and on year after year same excuses and comments. You know what is also the same year after year...WE CANNOT SCORE.

All teams hit posts, and just miss deflections, and have games where they are snake bitten. When it happens year after year guess what guys...it it not bad luck or snake bitten...WE NEED BETTER PLAYERS WHO CAN SCORE GOALS.

That is all.

Stepan and Brassard need to do more or this team won't go far, Nash or no Nash.

and Al and his Torts binky is brutal. As soon as the team struggles he comes here with his shtick, lol.

I agree with you 100% on Brassard. Guy is on pace for 31 points. He needs to get 50 points IMO.

Stepan I agree, but not as strongly as on Brassard. He does need to do more, but he is on pace for 16 and 55. I would say goals we need him around 18-20, so not too far off. And points we want him at 65-70, so he needs to pick up that pace by about 10-12 or so.

So I agree with you, but he isn't that far off. 4 or 5 points in the next 5 or 6 games and he'll be pretty much where we need him to be IMO. But yes he does need to pick it up a little.

Maybe if MZA would shoot when he is 1 on 1 with the goalie he would have a few more assists...:).

Stepan needs to do a lot more. He has 4gls, but 3 came in 1 game so in the other 20gms we've played he's had 1gl. Unacceptable for a team's 1st line center. He does have 10 assists but half of those are secondary assists so he's basically in just for the ride with those goals and collect his point.

Fu 31. Again it comes back to the players not being able to put the puck in the net. I don't care I'd its renney..arbor..torts..bowman...av...they are not on the ice shooting the puck. Same shit over and over. Making other teams goalies look invincible. But I guess your right av is the man. Love him to death. So much excitement watching these losses.

That's the problem, he's not a 1st line C, a very good 2. That's what they need along with a mobile dman going into next year. Everybody here wants to pencil Stepan in as a 1, and he's just not.

Agree, 71. I never viewed Stepan as a 1st line center, but during the offseason Dump and others were calling him a Point-per-game player because he had a good 38gms last year and i just don't see that in him.

He has scored in 2 of 21gms and that is simply awful from your best center. No wonder our offense has struggled.

In Stepan's defense, the way this team is constructed he really wasn't supposed to be the #1 C just yet. Richards' decline, even with his improvement this year, has put alot of pressure on Step.

I hate to correlate draft position with roster status since it sounds too easy, but if he really was a true #1C in the NHL he'd probably have gone in the 1st round. He's a real good player, but he's not overly big, quick or with a great shot. He's a good passer but not otherworldly. The sooner the organization thinks of him in that slot, with Brassard #3 and go find a way to get one, the sooner they'll be on the way towards a SC.

I think Stepan can sort of be a #1 center with a great talent like Nash. He is not a #1 center with a kid in Kreider who has just recently figured out his offensive game and Zuc who is Zuc

Playing with a healthy Nash all year Stepan can get 80 pts. A true #1 can get his points regardless, Stepan cannot.

You're all a bunch of morons on Stepan. He ranked 11th in the entire NHL in points last year for centers. Than means he's a number 1 center without any question. If he wasn't then there would be 30 to 40 centers who had more points than he did last year. Drop the Stepan crap. It's moronic.

Stepan had the same goals/assists/points as Kadri. Do you think he is a #1?

Takes more then 48 games IMO but I am high on Stepan overall

AV is experiencing what plagued us last year. lots of shots, inability to finish.

I don't remember the puck movement and the quality of scoring chances last year compared to this one. I think its just a matter of time

Last year the Rangers couldn't even get the puck out of their end of the ice, not missing three guys kicking the puck up the boards trying to clear the zone. The only thing I'd knock Stepan for is holding out and starting the season out of shape (very Dubinskyish). The Rangers have been missing one of the NHL's top scorers for 17 games. I thought Nash looked a little rusty but still had 5 shots on goal against one of the NHL's best defensive teams. I would put Miller back in the mix and put Moore on the pine, he does nothing. There's a reason he's been a journeyman and it's time to send him off to his next destination.

Totally agree. The lack of scoring is the same. The style of play is very different. Not only more pure scoring chances but just much better puck movement. I am optimistic because of that. But they cant keep giving away points.

I...i....i can't believe i'm reading this from Dump. Truly baffling.

Sam Gagner, Mikko Koivu and our own Brad Richards finished in top 30 scoring for Centers. Heck, no need to wake Sather from his nap, we got 2 1st line centers on this team! F yea.
