Rangers-Pens Game 2

Sum it up like this. At least 6, and maybe 7, of the series are 1-1 after two games. Tells you all you need to know IMO.

You cannot fall down 2-0 in the NHL and expect to win the series. Those trailing teams know that very well, hence we have all these 1-1 series.

Agree to disagree jam. I don't think stupidity had anything to do with it quite honestly. When I think stupidity I think dumb penalties. I think many sloppy TO's.

What I saw was them kill us on special teams and want it much more than us, leading to those things you mentioned. That is not stupidity my friend. That is one team playing for their lives and another not at that level tonight.

We can agree to disagree, that's fine ... I'll leave it at that. On to game 3, where they should show us some playoff hockey on both sides of the ice.

Onto game 3. We need a much better effort, and I expect we'll get one.

Two things we need to be aware of/ready for:

1. The refs have totally been on our side through two games. We need to be careful that doesn't flip in Pitt.
2. The start of the game I am sure the Pens will come out on fire. Get through the first 7 or so minutes and we'll be okay.

I'm still confident they win this series and I hope also it doesn't go 7.

What concerns me is they have been outplayed in 4 of the 6 periods. But this team hasn't played its best hockey yet and is very resilient. I'm very confident they win Monday night.

Pretty simple. PP has been garbage most of the time. Rookies are playing like rookies. Boyle and St. Louis are playing like total relics and that might not change.

This whole idea that any numbered playoff game that the Rangers lose
is one f'kn joke. This team must learn to put the foot to the pedal
and don't take it off for an entire game; not for 10 minutes, not for 30,
not for 40........they must play for an entire 60 minutes.....and
for God's sake score more than your opponent.

It is what it is cage. I don't think anyone likes it. I don't think anyone is okay with it. The Rangers say all the right things when they approach those foot on their throat games, but the results are what the results are. And in MANY series the past 2 or 3 years we lose those games when we have a little wiggle room. That's just the reality of it.

Of course we need to do better in those situations, but it is what it is right now.

Just curious Chuck, let's say Rangers lose this series........will you be
okay with "it is what it is" approach? Yes, it is presumptive, but it
could happen. I wonder how casual you'll be reacting. And yes, the
results are what they are. Teams tied 1-1......and I will say, we all
have our own ways of dealing with Ranger playoff hockey. lol

No, I will flip out like a mad man and never watch another Ranger game...

I mean what response are you looking for here? Of course I would be angry. I would say the season is a failure. I am sure I will be VERY angry actually and go off a little in here. But me coming on this board and flipping out won't change the loss I don't believe.

As for your post above, again no one likes it. The team I am sure hates it also. BUT the series is 1-1. We are still in a solid spot to win the series (just as the Pens can win it from here). Flipping out about how angry you are about taking games with a lead off won't really solve anything. I mean you write that as if you think someone in here is saying yeah it is all good that they don't show up when they can take full control of a series. Or the team thinks it's okay. We ALL think it is ridiculous, I am sure the team does as well, but it is what it is. No one thinks it is good or okay bro.
