Chuck, I don't understand this "fake fan" comment. You are pushing this narrative, but I just don't get it. We all want the Rangers to win. The way Quinn treats Gauthier is a great example, and he is one of many. Yes, Gauthier messed up with his high sticking penalties, I agree but he also scored a goal, drew penalty himself, and had a few grade-A chances. A good coach would explain it to the player, and help him, but Quinn benches him the next game. Clearly, Howden sucks, he looks like he can barely skate, but Howden plays every game. What does a healthy scratch like that do for a young talented player? That is bad coaching. I understand you bench the guy for 10 min to make a point, or for one period, but to scratch him the next game is not the best approach for developing young players. I mean they are kids. This is the reason why we dislike him. As fiery as Torts is, for the most part, I thought his benching was justified. Torts disliked Avery for example, but he played him because Avery was effective. I personally liked Torts, maybe his system doesn't produce too many cups, but at least it a system, and a system that might work, and Torts won a cup and came close a few years ago in Columbus.
