Clearly visible? So what part of that credentials gives him floor access? What differentiates it from the others? Is it the color of the badge?
What I see is his hand covering it. Maybe he flashed it to the officer but from that video...what is clearly visible? I honestly am asking the question because I don't know.

Usually they can tell it's legit just from glancing at it. Yes.

The Washington Wizards are rumored to be offering Ujiri $100million for 10 years.

In the meantine, imagine an Oakland police officer telling his family they will be putting in a swimming pool this summer.

I want to preface this by saying all the facts aren't out yet in this case but in general my initial point was that it seems like a lot of these types of incidents could be avoided by having officers that are trained to handle these things in a respectful and calm matter.

If Ujiri attacks a police officer then it should be the officer's duty to arrest him and let the judicial system punish him. Instead he tries to fight Ujiri. In this particular example there is nobody's life in danger. An officer needs to learn that it's his job to keep the peace not become part of the incident. Far too often I see officers react in a way that they think they can do whatever they want because they have a badge.

Cops stopped being "peace officers" or "peace keepers" long ago. They have mutated into a paramilitary organization that acts like an army of occupation in a community they no longer identify with or have any empathy for.

I was credentialed for three years. All I had to do was flash my credential was i walked by. Never once was I stopped and inspected.
Time & situation are important in the context too.
If things are calm, it's much easier to take note and notice the credentials.

This was immediately after the game with lots of commotion occurring. That creates a high stress situation for the security team.... it's tough to compare it to a 'normal' situation.

What...?

Who? WHo the fuck is supporting the cop? Calm down.

Did I use caps? What would give you any indication that I need to "calm down"?

No need to respond so viscerally to a simple statement that had nothing to do with you...

Odd way to celebrate winning a championship...punching out an Oracle cop
How many members of our team get to be roughed up at Oracle? One is too many and this is two. No wonder Ujiri was ready to fight him.

We've been hearing about this. Supposedly being in Washington is a draw for Ujiri who has stuff going on with Giants of Africa/Basketball Without Borders and other endeavours that involve politics and gladhanding. But he won't leave for money.

When he is walking down the tunnel he is only holding the lanyard part and the credentials are dangling down, fully visible. They are in the exact same position in a photograph I saw when he and Lowry walk away from the incident.

I personally experienced police taunting and bullying on the regular when I was a long haired teenager. It sucks.

I've also met plenty of cops who aren't bad guys.

And I've had a recent conversation with a Sheriff Deputy who told me that it's difficult these days to even find and hire new Deputies who can pass the rigorous background check the Sheriff's Office requires. His biggest problem: No one wants to be a cop anymore (Except for a lot of people who shouldn't be).

There should be a degree program then. This is not hard. Being a cop should require a 4 year degree.

THEN PAY THEM... 80K+ to start.

They will do stupid things like this a LOT less.

This is crazy, american police is disgusting

This is the shit I'm talking about. A call for a shoplifting incident doesn't call for the cops to run in guns drawn like it's the fucking OK Corral. Plus their screaming isn't helping to keep the situation under control. The fucking cops are the ones making a controllable situation completely chaotic.

Not in this instance but people in this forum give cops the BOTD all the time. I've debated with them.
The misunderstanding is you saying "the cop" no one is giving "the cop" the BOTD.

It’s pretty simple. Your credential is supposed to be visible at ALL times, no questions asked. I literally just just got stopped here at work because my pass was like this

and not like this!
MSG Security is no joke!

After Dame’s game winner against OKC, NBA security was in our TV truck wanting to see who the two people were who jumped out in the court and celebrated with Dame. I mentioned to them that it was his brother and sister.....he wanted to know how I knew, but believed us and let it go. He still had to file a report with the league and contact the team about it.

And I'll bet he knows EXACTLY who Ujiri is.

Folks in here already ready to give the cop the benefit of the doubt.

THIS NEEDS TO END....

Why do we assume cops are truth tellers?? If you don't trust the government, how the hell do you trust it's enforcers?

21 weeks MAYBE (OR is 16) is the police academy. You don't get rid of your racism in that short of a time...
I'm just reading this and posting as I do so maybe more will be shown but at this time....FUCK THAT COP

And you know if I saw it different I'd say so.
