Rashweed played almost 40 minutes tonight, and collected exactly 1 rebound. That's right, 1 rebound.

For an atheletic, 6'11 guy with long arms, that's inexcusable. But where was Wallace the entire game? Posting up at the 3-point line where he could loft up his lazy 3-point shots. If I were a Piston's fan, I'd be furious, but luckily I'm not. Wallace is their problem, and they're welcome to him. We've got LaMarcus Aldridge, and he thoroughly out-played Wallace tonight.

Although I was happy that Wallace was outplayed by LaMarcus, it is important to point out that LaMarcus only had 3 more rebounds than Rasheed.

If I felt like being an asshole, I'd say you sound bitter that Rasheed got them a championship...and only got you a WCF.

:D

Oh well, bright side: who knows, you might have never gotten Rudy if he did get you a championship!

:D

Sheed and LA both made other plays grab rebounds. LA played on the perimeter and so did Sheed. That's why Oden and Batum got the bulk of the rbs.

Sheed is averaging 8.9 rebounds a game, which is his career high and more than anyone on our entire team. Yet, he has "become a joke"?

It seems a little silly to make generalizations about a player's entire game based on a statistical anomaly in one game.

:shh: Let the Rubes have their fun.

Rashweed can get that many rebounds just by standing around the basket and waiting for something to fall into his hands. But he'd rather stand outside the 3-point line and loft up long jump shots all night. It's just more fun, don't you know! Hence, his ONE measly rebound tonight.

Kind of hard to argue with the results when he hits his threes at about 40%.

Anyway, why the hell are we talking about Sheed? It's like dwelling on Bonzi or Damon.

Rashweed was the last player to leave the court tonight, indicating that even he knows how much he sucked.

umm didnt our Center Oden only get 1 rebound in 13 minutes against Phoenix a while back? wouldnt that rate have put Oden at 2.96 for 40 minutes total? Come on man its one game.

There's apparently a group of fans so traumatized by Rasheed Wallace that they've become fixated on him. A Blazers season wouldn't be complete without a few "I still really hate Rasheed Wallace!" threads.

Well, what else are we going to talk about? Afterall, the Blazers just lost another road game.

I find it odd that posters like Shooter were proven SO INCORRECT about Rasheed (that the Blazers would be better after the "knuckleheads" were gone; that Rasheed would never win a title, etc.) and yet 96% (give or take) of threads started about Rasheed since his Portland days have been weird "I told you so!" threads by his detractors.

It's one of the more topsy-turvy things about this community that I can think of.

What's even weirder is that Damon, a far bigger turd in the punchbowl, gets a free pass.

I posted it in another thread, but Rasheed Wallace is pretty much becoming a Matt Bullard clone at this point.

LMA abused him, which will happen when a guy like Wallace didn't work on his body when he was younger.

He's a no-defense jump shooter with a big mouth now. He has had a good career. The problem is that with his skills and athleticism, it should have been a great career.

Yep... probably because

1. No one really bothered to defend Damon. He was never that good and never gonna be that good.
2. Rasheed is (I'll say it again, at the risk of riling people up) a borderline hall of famer. He might not get in, but he's been a consistent force in the NBA for years and years. He's a good player. BUT... some people always thought he could be so much more... and some of THOSE people have been disproportionately angry about that perceived failure to meet their expectations.

I don't know why I'm typing this out. We already know all of this.

Maybe it's consistent with the entire thread, though :)

Nicely put. I try not to get sucked into that stuff anymore. If reality isn't going to convince them, I certainly don't stand a chance.

Bitter isn't the word. Over the 10 years I've chatted among this group of posters I'd estimate Shooter has easily started 200+ threads bashing Rasheed. Positive or negative, I've never seen any fan so singularly obsessed with one player. When Wallace won a championship definitively disproving years of his rants, it only seemed to strengthen his resolve to smear him. We get treated to a few new Sheed/bad threads every time the clubs match up. Just laugh along with the rest of us, it will be over soon enough.

Imagine when Sheed eventually retires. "Rashweed quits again just like always!" will be the thread title.

I think I'm going to make a post about Rasheed Wonachampionship every time I read that incredibly retarded nickname.

Stupid me...I thought it was a typo.

Am I too late to join the annual "I hate Sheed" party?! I sure hope not! You suck, 'Sheed!

That's always amused me, the "He could have been Kevin Garnett or Tim Duncan if he had just cared. Whatta bum!" sentiments. Fairly incredible that a point used against him is that he should have been arguably the best player in the game, he just didn't want to bother.

you wanna talk about waste of talent....lets talk about Derrick Coleman...now that was a guy who could get 20-10 (maybe even 25-13) in his F'n sleep ...but just didn't care to! So, so sad

Coleman often DID get 20-10 in his sleep. When he was good, he was really good.

Ha, ha, ha. You made my day, Ed O. The closest Rashweed will get to the Hall of Fame is when he drives by it on his way to Palookaville.
