Kick Ass- 7.5/10. Good flick overall. I know nothing about the graphic novel or comics or whatever it was based off of but would have liked to have seen (SPOILER) more of Kick Ass actually doing things? I guess the point is that he never really does that much and isn't a super hero thus it maintains some reality. And if they do a sequel you have to figure there will be a lot more action for him given that they've gotten all of the plot foundation laid (and there's a lot to cover) in the first one. Surprised they killed Nic Cage. This was a rare time where I wanted to see more of him lol.
 
The last movie that I saw was The Other Guys. It was okay and typical for Ferrell, but I crave action, horror and humor. Thats why I am checkin out Piranha 3D on Friday! (Kelly Brook in Piranha 3d = mAjor babe!)

Narc: 10/10
Awesome cop film. Jason Patric and Ray Liotta were fantastic.
 
Oh I have to see Narc again. I haven't watched that movie in over 5 years.
 
True Romance (The Tarentino Cut) -- 8/10 -- I had only seen the original version and it was many years ago. If you know something about Tarentino's life before being a filmmaker you can see that the Clarence Worley character is based of off a romanticized version of himself and his life as a video store nerd (comic book store nerd).
 
The Shawshank Redemption -- 9/10

Well, this is a classic if I've ever seen one. Nothing more to say, brilliant.
 
(2010)Scott Pilgrim Vs The World - 7/10 - Fun and visually stimulating. Nothing much else.

(2010)The Expendables - 3/10 - I have no idea why this movie was made nor why it was #1 at the box office for two straight weeks.

(2009)The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo - 7/10 - Paint by numbers thriller with a cliched climax. More intrigued by Noomi Rapace's character than the actual mystery. Her performance has been praised but I don't know if it was her taking the character to another level or just how the character was written or directed.

(2008)The Good, The Bad, and The Weird - 9/10 - Good ol' fashioned fun. Sergio Leone homage mixed in with some asian influence. Never dull for a second and I definitely recommend it. Kang-ho Song is quickly becoming one of my favorite international actors.

(2010)Animal Kingdom - 8/10 - The editing impressed me, certain key moments being rightly bypassed to infer our understanding. The breaks in action seemed real and needed in order to lead to the next revelation and/or problem. Most importantly the film wasn’t obvious, I wasn’t constantly walking toward obvious answers, and even when I was the film did it in an interesting way and took it up another notch. So far this is one of the years best films I have seen.

Hard Candy - 8/10 - For a movie that focused on two people primarily, it was damn awesome. Creepy as shit, too. I rec. it to everyone.

Anchorman - 7/10 - So stupid, but so many quotes.
 
The King of Comedy -- 9/10 -- under-appreciated at the time it came out and still hardly mentioned among Scorsese's other films. Hard to follow up on Raging Bull, especially with DeNiro's Rupert Pipkin a complete 180 from Jack La Motta, but about as good a performance from him. Has aged well.

The King of Comedy is outstanding and in my opinion, it should be brought up when talking about other Scorcese masterpieces. One of my most favorite films.
 
Machete -- 8/10 -- people aren't liking this but I'm not sure why. Really funny Mexploitation film in a similar vein to Planet Terror and Dusk 'Till Dawn.

Despicable Me - 7/10

Both decent comedies that each had their moments, but neither of them were a must see.
 
El Superbeasto -- 2/10 -- I might've liked it when I was 12.
 
The Town- 7.5/10. Good movie but not as great as I was lead to believe. Affleck should keep directing though, this and Gone Baby Gone were both real good (IMO Gone Baby Gone was better).

Been getting into Rescue Me lately and its very good. Mamba, didn't you used to pimp this show?
 
Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps - 7.5/10

Let Me In - 7.5/10

Let Me In was a lot different than I was expecting. It was a completely different take on the typical vampire movie. I enjoyed it, but it was pretty slow moving and definitely not a movie that everyone will enjoy.

it was nowhere near as good as the original.
 
Crazy Heart -- 8/10 -- extremely strong music and performances layered over a predictable and well-worn story.
Bronson -- 8/10 -- something different. Strong performance from Hardy.
Survival of the Dead -- 2/10 -- George A. Romero has lost his marbles.
Outpost -- 8/10 -- as far as B-action/horror films go, this one isn't nearly as bad as it should be.
Infestation -- 8/10 -- pretty funny, good special effects--basically everything those SyFy movies aren't.
Resident Evil: Afterlife -- 3/10 -- ever heard of retard strength? This movie is that strongly retarded. Aggressively retarded.
Predators -- 7/10 -- stupid and fun. Needed more of the secret "Yoda" character, he was the best thing in the movie.

Jackass 3D - 8/10

Movie was absolutely hilarious, and for me, there was really only one cringe-worthy part, and it involved a cocktail. Anyone that's seen it should know what I'm talking about. I couldn't watch that part, and a dude behind me damn near threw up during it.
 
Curse of the Golden Flower -- 8/10 -- the first hour is boring but it gives way to a more compelling second half; the film is absolutely gorgeous, the coordinated sequences are amazing, and the sets are unreal.

Parnormal Activity -- 4/10

Well, I've come to the conclusion that I am more scared by things that are not possible (ie: scary mother fuckers, The Grudge, etc) than things that are more believable (ghosts, paranormal spirits). I honestly didn't feel any sort of fear after watching this movie, which highly surprises me.

Most of the people I know were scared shitless by this movie but it just didn't work for me. I was more scared by The Grudge.

The main chick in the movie had a great pair and her friend was sexy. That's all.

The scariest part for me was when the wife was being dragged down the hallway but it was more of a "WTF?!" moment.

Ghostbusters 2 -- 3/10

Poor acting and a dull plot basically sums up this movie. Possibly one of the tackiest movies ever made. Bill Murray had some funny lines, I guess.

Jackass 3D -- 8/10

Shit was lulz. I docked a couple of points because some of the things they did were just god damn disgusting (the sweat drink made me gag).
 
Paranormal Activity 2 - 6/10

I have to disagree with Ronan. While I wasn't scared by this movie, it certainly did more for me than The Grudge, which is arguably one of the worst movies I've ever watched. While I didn't this was as good as the first (not even close really), it was still decent, even though I only jumped once...which is more than what 99% of horror movies can say.
 
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World -- 7/10 -- didn't like the first half hour or so, reached my hipster tolerance limit, but after that I could get into it.
 
Due Date- 7.5/10. Not excellent but solid comedy with a few really funny parts.

It was a pretty solid comedy...was a lot like The Hangover (which was expected), but not quite as funny. However, there were some absolutely hysterical moments that had me rolling, and I have to give props to Downey Jr. and Galifinakis, as they were both really, really good in the movie.
 
Inception -- 10/10 -- enthralling.
 
MacGruber -- 3/10 -- like every SNL episode there were a couple of funny moments in an otherwise arduous hour and a half.
