Here, let me make this REAL simple, EXAMPLE: An altercation breaks out on the field, the bullpen coach says...S T A Y ! no fines, no possible injuries to the pitches & like I said 20-22 less players on the field. What you refer to as nanny control could better be called a pre-emptive strike to avoid any unnecessary injuries to the pitchers. regardless of how infrequent it happens.
You aren't putting yourself in the moment and the mindset of the guys in the pen. The want to support their team, show solidarity and be involved. You go be the guy that doesn't get off the bench or leave the pen...see how well your team mates treat you the next day.
Right or wrong, team mates back each other up. No rule can change that. Stop thinking like Blomberg.
