"I think he (LaMarcus Aldridge) had a great season, but he hasn't played as well as Kevin Love and Blake Griffin. I mean, he's played great the last two weeks, but if you look at the overall picture, He's not playing better than Kevin Love. Kevin Love is leading the league in rebounding. You can fake offensive stats, but you can't fake rebounding.

There are a lot of guys who just gun it a lot and average a lot of points. You know, I never worry about those guys who score a lot of points, you can fake it on offense, but if you're getting fifteen rebounds a night, that's really, really impressive, and that's really hard work. LaMarcus Aldridge is having a very good season, but he's should not have made the All-Star Team.

What a joke.

I'm so ANGRY!!!!!!! AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH CHARLES YOU BASTARD. FUCK YOU

Just kidding. Who cares, honestly?

People that say beyond ridiculous things deserved to be called out. If you don't care, that's fine.

Lmfao

Aldridge is just a faker everyone

Yep. I heard players and coaches from both the Spurs and the Bulls commenting on how good Aldridge would be if he'd just stop faking it and play like he really meant it.

Charles is good. Charles is great. Sometimes Charles makes less sense than a chocolate cake.....Faking, yup.

Gramps...

Kevin Love is a white Charles Barkley. Short. Fat. Great rebounder. Terrific offensive game. Still trying to figure out the other 47 feet. Of course Barkley loves him.

As for Griffin, the guy is amazing.

I'm still waiting for the reasoning why Duncan has had a better year than Aldridge.

Timmy getting in was just a product of their amazing season thus far.

Hopefully Timmy decides to sit out the ASG and rest, deep down he knows he doesn't belong there this year.

Charles about had an aneurysm when they announced the all-star reserves and Love wasn't included. He ranted and raved for several minutes. To his credit, he was the only one on the show to even mention Aldridge.

If there is one stat you CAN fake in the NBA it is rebounds. It is the number one stat that does get faked. Assists are next on the list, but if you think about it there is not one stat that occurs more during a game than rebounds. They occur on offense and defense, and when foul shots are taken. I broke all of it down why the TweenWolves offer the most rebounding opportunities in the whole NBA. Here is the quick version: Most tos, most fouls hence trips to the line, they give up the most FGA in the NBA. K-loves stats are juiced as someone on youtube also broke down on a site linked to another post as well. LMA did deserve to go, but I think people forget how long our history is of All-star snubbage.

There is a lot of truth to what he is saying. But I agree with Sug, rebounding is a stat you can fake.

Charles is a bandwagoner. It's that simple.

Sam Smith said it the other day. Kevin Love doesn't have 1/2 the offensive game that Aldridge has. He also lacks the ability to effect the game on the defensive end of the court. So I really don't know what Charles is saying, because I have watched Kevin Love quite a few times this year. The guy couldn't defend if his life depended on it. He has no go to move, where LA has a bunch of go to moves. He can't carry a team, where Lamarcus can carry a team.

Another thing about rebounds, at least offensive rebounds, they only happen after a missed shot. I remember one year the Warriors led the league in offensive rebounds and the local media kept singing their praises, although they also had one of the worst records in the league because they could not shoot for shit.

OTOH - I'm not het up. Commentators can make fools of themselves, but like the saying goes, even if ungrammatical, ball don't lie.

Barkley is known for saying stupid things that dont make any sense. This is one of them!

Barkley's career average:
Pts - 22.1
Rbs - 11.7
Blks - .83
Ast - 3.9
Stl - 1.54

LaMarcus this season:
Pts - 21.6
Rbs - 9.1
Blks - 1.2
Ast - 2
Stl - 1.1

So Charles thinks he was a borderline All Star player during his career?

I like Chuck and Kevin Love has to be commended for what he does - he really is a fantastic utility guy - but let's be honest about it - you do not ask Barkley to comment on things he can't do - Golf, Defense, Lean Cuisine.

Chuck did play until he was 36... his later years were not kind to his overall stats. While it's true that he didn't play much D, if you compare his first 5 seasons to LA's it's CB in a landslide. Going on PER, only his rookie year did he not exceed LA's best (this season)

dude being named to the 50 greatest wasn't a questionable selection

I agree with Barkley in this case. Love and Griffin have both had better seasons.

For inferior teams? Obviously. But better seasons.

swap LA with either guy and both of their inferior teams are enjoying better seasons... the reverse would be true for Portland. LA is the only one of the three that a team can run their offense through and he's far superior on the defensive end

Barkley is sticking to what he claimed at the beginning of the season, which is true to form with him. I really don't care that much about LA not making the AS game as I'd just as much like to see him get a physical and mental break from the grind to be primed for the home stretch. I'd be much more excited about him making an All NBA team. If things continue the way they've been, I think thats a probability

How about Tim Duncan over Zach or LMA?

What A Joke, Is Right. I'm sorry but games against the Timberwolves are just not on the same level of play vs. above .500 teams. In the modern day NBA, players take days off from playing all out when your playing a bottom feeder team like the T-Wolves. The defensive intensity is not the same, fighting for rebounds is not the same, and the energy is simply not the same. Apples and Oranges anyone?!?

Everything Barkley says about the Blazers needs to be taken with a grain of salt. If you remember, he wanted to come here and play with Clyde. The Blazers didn't want him. I remember it being a pretty big deal.

Well That explains that.

LMA is a tremendous defender. He can virtually guard any position. I guess that doesn't factor into the All-Star game and now that were seeing LMA's offensive arsenal it's apparent that Love isn't near the Caliber of LMA. All this on a team fighting tooth and nail to make the playoffs. SNUB.

From now until the end of the season about every other game Aldridge can tell himself, "Well, the fans and the league thinks this opposing PF or C is an All Star and I'm not. I think I'm going to make him my bitch."

How about Tim Duncan over Zach or LMA?

What about Carmelo Anthony being voted in over all these contenders, taking up a valuable Western Conference All-Star Forward slot that the slacker doesn't deserve this season.
