Why Did the Democrats Lie So Baldly about the Memo
By Roger L Simon February 2, 2018
3-4 minutes
Adam Schiff, Dianne Feinstein, Nancy Pelosi, among seemingly dozens of Democrats, not to mention half the mainstream media, had been warning us for days that the release of the memo authored by Republican members of the House Intelligence Committee would place our national security at grave risk. "Sources and methods" would be revealed.

Now that we have seen the memo, it's clear that was an absolutely bald-faced lie of the most obvious sort. Nothing in it impacts national security in the slightest. There's no mention whatsoever of any "sources and methods."

Unless they were lobotomized, those Democrats and their dependable PR team (aka the media) must have realized they were blatantly lying to the American public. Evidently, they didn't care. How're we now supposed to trust what these people say about anything? Falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus.

Their latest meme is "cherry picking." The memo was cherry-picked and therefore to be ignored. That's like saying a murderer who has a clean driving record and is a good cook is not a murderer. Whatever else happened, the FBI clearly used a slanderous fictional document to get a FISA ruling to surveil Carter Page without telling the court the document was a pack of lies paid for by the Clinton campaign and written by a creepy spy with old-line Soviet connections. And they did it multiple times.

So what was up here below the surface? It can't just be the "evil party" trying to live up to its nickname, although that certainly happened.

It seems this particular lie was a last line of defense — for now — against a coming potential Armageddon for their party. This memo, bad as it is, is apparently only the first of many, a small percentage of what is to come. And the Democrats know it.

When Denny's wrong, he is really wrong!:cool2:

He's bringing it on home now though, Listen up boys, he is spot on! Abuse of power, Abuse of the FISA process, Abusing you.

The abuse of power in this case is beyond any we have ever seen before! The administration in power seeking to spy on a presidential candidate and his team in an election. You know this level of spying has to have been known by the sitting chief executive and therefore had his approval, signed or not. No way to keep this secrete from him.

This is not like Watergate, a simple burglary. This is full blown espionage at the highest levels using the full power of the government against a Presidential candidate. And it continued on up into his administration, like a coup!

The power to do this must be ripped out by the roots or we do not have a country.

You can not be for these tactics, Democrat, Republican, Libertarian or just Citizen.

Why on earth hasn't Page been arrested and charged after all this time?

After all, he's an agent of a foreign power committing espionage!

(or not)
Don’t know but there are rumors he’s flipped

This entire abuse of power thing reminds me again of a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson.
I think we pass it off to Shakespeare a few days back, but then he could have said something similar, perhaps in Macbeth.

"If it were done when 'tis done, then 'twere well it were done quickly..."

Back to Emerson;

"When you strike at a King, you must kill him"

I have to wonder if these people that are so ready to abuse power, have ever read such admonishments?
If they have, and I suspect this would be the case, do they now have that, awe shit feeling?

Rosenstein comes to mind first but several FBI people must also.

(please do not get bollixed up with the differences between a King and a President)

Holy Mother of God, you sound EXACTLY like those hair on fire, end of the world Hillary supporters after Trump won. And like the Obama administration is the only one to abuse this power (assuming it’s even true). We’ve been fed so many lies and half truths over the past year and a half it seems exceedingly premature to start sounding the alarm for the apocalypse. Or isn’t that what you right wingers tried to tell everyone when the Russia probe was initiated?? The sad part is that we’ll never know the full truth....if we’re even told a small part of it. This entire flap is partisan politics as it’s absolute finest.......

And FWIW, it seems as the right wing media has blown this up to be bigger than it probably is. Or is that just a left wing media failing......?

That's your job

And FWIW, it seems as the right wing media has blown this up to be bigger than it probably is.

Well I have little access to media. The over the air TV here in Oxnard is pretty much local. But I did watch PBS last night. Holy hell, they sound like paid shills for the DNC. What right wing media do you mean? If you mean Fox, I have no access to cable.

So I give you my pure personal take, out of the goodness of my heart as a public service.

Why thank you! I’ve always considered you a prince amongst men! And will buy you a beer for your acts of kindness if we ever meet up!

What I do think is the memo does show FISA was abused and the Trump campaign wrongly targeted.

The Trump campaign was not targeted. One guy, Carter Page, was targeted.

FISA was not meant to spy on US citizens, period. Carter Page is a citizen, like him or not.

This is, of course, bullshit. FISA covers "agents of foreign powers" like Carter Page.

Judges do, and if the supposed crime isn't material to some other crime, it'll be thrown out.

And is Trump a judge? No? Then he doesn't get to decide what gets thrown out. Like I was saying.

Like Clinocchio's lie under oath about Lewinsky - which was (in your mind - by your definition) obstruction.

Uhm... didn't Clinton get impeached for obstruction of justice? Pretty sure he did. So I guess it was obstruction by someone else's definition also.

Pretty much irrelevant what someone else's definition is here, hey barf?
Clinton was not convicted so that can not make right any predicated definitions.

It's only an issue because Denny Nunes was suggesting that I had made up my own definition of obstruction.

I agree that whether or not Clinton was charged or convicted doesn't tell us whether or not Trump will be charged or convicted.

No, but logic will come very close.

“When your youth is about to enter in old age it shouldn't wonder, what happened? it must say, well done.”

Anyone else want them to release the Dems memo too? Ugh, I just wish there was some effing transparency across the board. Enough of this politicized BS. Nunes should both be taken off the committee and replaced as far as I'm concerned. He seems to me like a White House lackey.

Yesterday's release doesn't prove Trump's innocence. Nor does it prove that Russia didn't have a role in him getting elected, whether Trump colluded or not. I feel there is still a reason for the investigation into Russian meddling in our election process. All parties that are proven to have colluded should be indicted and arrested. If they classify Mueller's report at the end of all this, I am going to be pretty peeved, to be honest.

tl;dr Everyone at the top is corrupt Adonal Foyle.

Yesterday's release doesn't prove Trump's innocence.

Absolutely true!
But it does prove his team was "wiretapped" by the government at the highest levels, using untruthful means to gain authorization.

Remember how silly it was to think anyone Wiretapped anyone on the Trump team? The word itself was held to ridicule.

yep...the Russians did all this...which is why it's being investigated.....more to come...now Trump has to be careful about obstruction...that's his problem here..according to the news...he didn't even read the memo...just filled in the blanks with insults aimed at the opposition
