walter lemon jr. released by the bulls. point guard

Dwight is a far worse version of Whiteside at this point. I'd rather get Pau Gasol if we wanted to sign an over-the-hill big (better locker room dude as well).
His TS% has remained between 57% and 64% for the last 7 years. He averaged 20ppg and 15rpg PER 36 in 2017-2018. He's still a good defender. Considering our targets out their for backup C, he's as good as they get.

We need to pick up two of the following:
Dwight Howard
Cheick Diallo
Kenneth Faried
Jonas Jerebko
Amir Johnson

If we did swap Bazemore for Gallinari, then added Korver to fill the open wing spot...that'd be A LOT of perimeter shooting ability.

If the Blazers do that, Olshey had better hope that Bazemore is REALLY BAD at shooting. If you catch my drift. ;)

How about this on August 24th?

MIN Gets: Russell Westbrook, Danilo Gallinari, Skal Labissiere (TPE)
OKC Gets: Kent Bazemore, Jeff Teague, Josh Okogie, Gary Trent Jr, 2020 MIN 1st, 2022 MIN, 2024 MIN 1st, Future POR 2nds
POR Gets: Robert Covington, Gorgui Dieng

OKC saves $16M and gets two young guards, expirings, and future picks
MIN gets two really good starters at positions of need, sheds Diengs contract.
POR gets Covington who's a perfect fit, a backup C (on a bad contract), and doesn't give up any of their firsts.

I know he's been injured both seasons since being drafted but what ever happened to Justin Patton? Is he on a summer league roster? Maybe he's worth a look with our 2nd two-way contract to see if he can stay healthy.

I eas just thinking about him as an option the other day.

He’s healthy. I don’t know about giving him a contract but I would at least invite him to camp. He just turned 22.

I wonder where Dwight will end up. If he’s really serious about winning, his options kind of dwindle. Looking at teams that should be in the playoff hunt, the only one that stands out as a place he could start is San Antonio. Possibly Dallas, although I don’t know if they’re a playoff team.

Neil mentioned wanting to play “bully ball” at his last PC. Well shit, go get Dwight Howard then. If hes going to be a backup, may as well come to Portland. I know he gets along with Lillard, and the system fits his game. Once Nurk comes back I expect Whitesides contract to be dangled for an upgrade, so Howard’s role wouldn’t really be affected.

I'd MUCH rather have him than Joakim. I'd take Joakim 2nd tho.

I dont like Joakim. Had one good bounce back year but I think it was kinda flukey.

+1
Whoever paid for his contract these past few years has been a subject for ridicule, yet the Blazers need to pay for his new contract because he was OK during a his last months of a contract year?
This is a bit too familiar for my liking.
