We didn't tank and we got an absolute monster of a gem in Yang. The Blazers management knew what they were doing. Let the other teams squabble over Flagg's nutsack and nibble their way to mediocrity while the Blazers built a power team core and now have the insane fortune to have Dame and Jrue, too

Yang? I'll say it now. Yang will be better than Flagg. Revisit this in a while and see how I am calling it: he will be better for the team than Flagg. Why?

He makes everyone around him better. His IQ and touch and vision: ELITE.

He immediately adds so much to the other players. He made the Summer league squad look like the frickin' Dream Team.

F tanking. And F NOOP's.

I'm probably just not remembering, but I can't recall a hype-train that has barreled off the tracks so quickly as the one for Yang

just the titles of his youtube videos are so over the top that he's in orbit:

* "Chinese Jokic DOMINATES Summer League!"
* "This Chinese NBA Player Has Taken The World BY STORM"
* "The Chinese Jokic Just Made Them All Look Stupid"
* "Who Let The Blazers Get Away With Yang Hansen?"
* "Two 7-Foot GIANTS Who Will Change the NBA Foreverr" (Wemby & Yang; lol)
* "Yang Hansen, the NEXT BEST Big Passer in the NBA!"
* "Yang Hansen Summer League Debut Was INSANE!"
* "Yang Hansen Did THIS And Shocked The Entire World!"
* "Yang Hansen’s IQ Will Crush Athleticism in the NBA
"

130 summer league players averaged more points; 92 averaged more rebounds. 177 had a higher FG%

Yang showed glimpses of what he might become. He also showed glimpses of how real NBA players in real NBA games are going to make rookie Yang look like an awkward fool. He might live up to some of our expectations, but not this season, that's for sure.

You all missed the point. It's not about what he scores. It's about changing the whole team with his passing and playmaking and raising everyone to a higher level.

Comparing two rookies who’ve never played a real nba game yet requires some serious green font. I know I’m cheering for Yang to just be a solid backup center. He’s probably a couple seasons from getting up to speed and adding the Mike Barrett 20lbs of muscle! I want Toumani to shut Flagg down when we face them

I refuse to nibble on any nutsacks.

Any time anyone has an opinion against the grain the pitchforks come out. Rather, hey thanks for sharing your opinion, I hope it pans out that way!

Actually, we needed to win MORE games to get Flagg. The teams that tanked didn’t get him. And I agree about Yang. Glad we have him.

Makes sense when you consider Flagg is nothing but a more polished Clarence Weatherspoon.

If you look at WHO just posted that they agree with the original post…..that’s all you need to know .

There's just something....different and special about Yang. I was watching his pre-draft workout video on YT the other day, trying to find something I hadn't already watched; there's something about the way he plays the game that really stands out. The look on his face, his eyes.

Is it irrational to choose him over Flagg? Perhaps. I don't care. He has convinced me that he cares about his teammates and has the skills to amplify everyone to a much higher level. The hype and the talk about Summer league was real. There's a reason he was being talked about more than any other player.

Dude can flat out BALL! He plays like a pro. Can you imagine what it will be like when he has players like the rotation Blazers around him?

I'd certainly take him over Clingan as would the FO. They wanted him last year, but he didn't declare. He's going to push Clingan out of the way and start sooner than later.

He draws a lot of comparisons to Jokic, true. I think he will be better, given some time to mature and adapt and grow.

In Flagg, you have a great player, yes? +90 to the team. With Yang, maybe he adds +70 to the collective team power, but you get so much from his playmaking and passing, it's like +30 to each of the players around him, which is +120...now add that to 70 and you get 190.

It's all about the collective power of the team. Yang obviously makes a team much better than Flagg does and then he adds his own power.

We had a Gilbert tree in our backyard as a kid. Have you handled a hazelnut sack? Those things are covered in spines like fiberglass! I have distinct memory of trying to peel one. I can imagine the leven of hell that would be getting those stuck in my mouth.

I don’t see Yang having the role here to actually become a Sengun, but his game definitely reminds me of some things…

I don't see him as being Sengun, either; I see him as being Yang Hansen.

THIS IS DEFINITELY THE UBER DRIVERS SECONDARY ACCOUNT OR HIS BROTHER! NO DOUBT!
