I don't understand the pick but the Knicks had to see something to pick him that early...something...It seems like his energy and hustle are keys to his game and that will keep him in the league...I'm thinking a Junk Yard Dog type player, 6'8", skinny, big time hustle...etc...who knows.

I liked the pick from the get-go. I'm not just saying that because he's playing well. I mean it's only the pre-season, but I just like players who play hard and don't worry about their stats. that's exactly the type of player balkman is. the fans already love him and he'll bring a lot of fire off the bench like my boy d-lee

Yeah he's not gonna be getting big time minutes. that doesn't matter I think he can have the same impact on the team that david lee had last season.

Ive also been saying it from ther get-go, hes going to be a good player..for the knicks. They have 4 points guards(or really 2, but 2 others can defiently play PG...so they didnt need Williams). I thought they shouldve picked up Boone or Alexander Johnson in 1st rnd, but Balkman will bring alot to the Knicks. They are already stacked with talent despite them being trash last year...the thing they didnt have is a hustle player and thats what they get in Balkman.

Balkman is just a guy who hustles and gets rebounds. He has a minimal skill set at best from what Ive read.

Did you really expect Knicks to duplicate a position their already three deep at with Marbury, Francis and Robinson. Balkman fits the Knicks team because he's a guy not looking to score and hold the ball. He will crash the board, hustle and defend. Knicks have plenty of go to guys, not enough role players. This is where selecting Balkman benefits them.
