Renouncing Frye

I am not his biggest on court fan, but when Jole was injured 2 years ago and Frye started at center, he averaged double figure rebounds.

Probably why Nate got frustrated with him. We never saw that player again, and I'm sure that extends to the practice court.

KP had, in his words, the best trade chip in league history.

Cleveland has a very similar expiring contract in Sczerbiak, was shopping it and got no bites. Maybe expiring contracts weren't actually so unbelievably valuable?

That is a big enough sample size to know he won't do it.

Not logically, no. But I understand that you're venting. Venting doesn't have to be rational. We're here for you. Hi, Mediocre Man!

So why does he only product though in certain situations? Good players are not inconsistent. Which Channing Frye is going to show up? Tenatative Frye, or pumped up bad ass Frye? We shouldn't have to worry about that. Good teams have players that show up consistently every night. The reason Portland is not really good is because they only have a handful of consistent players. Roy, Aldridge, Joel. Everybody else on the team is a crapshoot for how they are going to show up that night. That is why the Blazers are good but not elite good.

I am having a problem figuring where you are going with this argument, MM.

In a different thread you said KP never wanted to take risks. Now, that he took a risk by renouncing Frye to try and land Turk - you are upset again?

It's a risk/reward situation in each and every move he makes. If the risk/reward situation is not offering the QO to Frye in the hope of landing Turk - I really do not see it as a major problem. You win some, you lose some. He lost a little bit (Frye) trying to get what he was after. It did not work - but he still has the cap space.

Channing did a very nice job as starting center at the end of the '07/'08 season and proved he could rebound well and score. That year, had he player 36 mpg, he would have averaged nearly 10 rebounds per game. He's not as bad as people here make him out to be. I wouldn't mind having him back if we can't find anyone else.

I know you don't truly feel this way and your just trying to get some attention from people like me. I guess it's working.

Shit...
MM may have a short fuse and a sharp tongue, but he says what he thinks, and he believes what he says.

Frye was in fantastic shape heading into training camp, and was practicing with impressive fire, intensity, and endurance. Then he got hurt, and had to sit on his ass for a few weeks, and by the time he was available to play, there weren't many minutes to go around. He got limited minutes so he couldn't shake the rust off so he couldn't produce well so he could only earn limited minutes so he couldn't shake the rust off so he couldn't produce well so he could only earn limited minutes.

If Frye gets 20+ minutes per game, he'll put up numbers such that half the haters will be saying "What a dick, why couldn't/wouldn't Frye do that here?" and the other half will be saying "KP is a dick, why the heck did he let Frye go?"

I was high on Frye (heh) from the outset of his stint in Portland. Unfortunately, after seeing his game actually regress, I think a change of scenery is best for him because he was not going to help this team.

I'm with you. Seeing how the first two days of FA are already over and we haven't signed jack shit, there's no chance of signing anyone at this point. This sucks. Fire KP.

Don't exagerate. Most of us would be fine with letting him off with a savage beating.
