Who's at the top of your list (assuming Chip Kelly is gone) to be the next head coach of the Ducks?

Gary Patterson (TCU)?

Chris Peterson (BSU)?

Tony Dungy?

The timing on this is terrible, but the position HAS to be one of the top in college football, and if the Ducks can get a top guy soon, I'd imagine things will keep rolling (especially if we can keep most of our assistants on staff...)

Any of those three but please god no Bellotti.

Dream hiring... Peterson head coach... Patterson defensive coordinator...

Haha.

I think Patterson with Helfrich as OC might be a good match...

It's Chris Petersen or bust

Patterson is nice, but Oregon will probably never get the kind of recruits it takes to build a dominant defense, and Patterson is a defensive coach.

Would Dennis Erickson make a good defensive coach?

I did always enjoy his dirty playing defense when he coached at OSU.

Per sources close to Oregon, Chris is #1, Gary #2 and will be immediately targeted.

The more I think of it... Patterson ran a spread at TCU... He runs a great D... He recruits better than Peterson... I'm all for Patterson!

With the exception of Riley is there anyone who has been coaching the same team in the Pac 12 for longer than 2 years?

He also has a strong presence in Texas, which is a continuation of the Ducks' efforts.

We just gotta get someone in place (someone excellent, of course) and keep things rolling!

Would Peterson really be a downgrade? If we can keep Helfrich around we can probably run the offense that Kelly was running?

Sure, its not exciting news. But this program isn't going anywhere.

Mostly people on Scout that I've known to be reliable and follow Duck sports. I know you've got an axe to grind against me, PapaG, but it's getting old.

Petersen has done amazing things with his QB's - and that's being surrounded by two and three star athletes. Imagine what he could do at Oregon.

Future blessing in disguise? nah.... :)

Glad we don't need to worry about this for a while, at least :)
