Report: Isiah Out As Knicks' Coach

Isiah is a terrible drafter. Renaldo Balkman as a first rounder, when no one else likely contemplates him til round 2? Same with Mardy Collins. He also did some reaching with Nate Robinson, he's just lucky the kid has turned out to be pretty good. Thomas is terrible at drafting, I wouldn't even hire his ass to do that. He's fired as coach, might as well just completely cut ties with him, the organization will be better off that way anyways.

I don't know, I think Isiah has a pretty good track record when it comes to drafting. The Balkman pick was a head scratcher at first, but from what I've seen, the Knick fans have all grown to like him. I don't think the Nate Robinson pick was a reach, he's doing pretty well in the NBA and that's all that matters (although he does seem like a headcase at times). And don't forget he also picked up a gem in David Lee, and he was the one who wanted Tracy McGrady on the Raptors on draft day. Isiah has had his fair share of misses, but who doesn't? The draft is a crap shoot. Although Isiah may not be the best drafter in the world, he certainly isn't terrible. You want terrible? Look at Otis Smith's past picks with the Orlando Magic

With that being said though, I still agree with you 100% about cutting ties with him. It's time to get some new blood in that organization. Isiah pretty much single handidly ran the entire Knicks organization to the ground. I think a change of face would do them some justice, there's no use hanging onto someone who is so hated on by the fans

Dude you're judging him on late first rounders? They're always crapshoots and those players haven't even turned out that bad (Balkman made a lot of people look stupid). How about at least being fair about it, though? With the Raptors he drafted the RoY Damon Stoudamire 7th overall ('95), Tracy McGrady 9th overall ('97) and with the Knicks he's drafted Trevor Ariza 44th overall ('04), Nate Robinson 21st overall ('05), and David Lee 30th overall ('05). His draft record is pretty impressive.

.... I can't believe I just defended Isiah Thomas.
