17% of the $36m
In other words, 6.12mil, making it a 15mil first season.

KP just said (minutes ago) that they were considering it, but do not have an offer ready. Hmmmm.
Teams are allowed to offer the players they sign a bonus worth as much as 20% of the total compensation (17.5% in offer sheets to restricted free agents signed after March 1, 2006). If a player has a signing bonus, then that bonus is spread among the guaranteed seasons in the contract (not option years or years following an ETO), in proportion to the percentage of salary in each of those seasons that is guaranteed*. This can create a problem if the player is signed with an exception or to the maximum salary. For instance, if the Mid-Level exception is $5 million, then a team could sign a player to a five-year contract with 8% raises (but without a signing bonus), as follows:
A 4 year contract offer for a back-up PF and a 4 year contract offer for a two-time All Star.
What a great summer.![]()
If we end up with Millsap, I'd count it a fantastic off-season. Millsap is a major piece to add free (in terms of talent).
Congratulations. You just graduated 3rd grade.
I'm guessing that Utah will match. I'll agree that Millsap is a nice player, though. Thank God it wasn't Brandon Bass.
WTH is this about? You edit my original post and then make some smartass comment? Get a life.
It seems like it might be difficult for them to do so, financially. I think there's a chance they won't match and, if they do, a chance that Portland can get them to do some kind of Boozer three-way deal. They apparently can't afford Boozer and Millsap, and it looks like Portland has structured it (with the signing bonus) to be most financially punishing in year 1.

I edited your post?

KP said not yet. Immediately afterward, Quick said yes. Both could be right (hadn't arrived yet) or Quick is wrong.
Hmmm. Could get interesting.
It means KP failed to find a third team and do the 3-way, and Utah called our bluff.
So we either get Millsap, or Utah has even more incentive to find a third team for Boozer.

Millsap is a nice player and might have been the best FA this summer but it isn't what we need and is stupid to make this offer. Unless this leads to something else KP is a idiot plan and simple. I think it is one thing to play fantasy basketball and rate draft picks and draft a team. It is another thing to actually being a good GM and with making trades and FA pickups to improve your team. I think now KP is way over his head as a GM. Go ahead and flame me all you want.
Could we leave utah with an extra dirty memphis? let them eat up a HUGE contract for millsap, and then not do anything with the trade of Boozer. Hope something awful happens to those Jazz men?

Would you like it read back to you?
What you posted:
What I originally posted in response to whether there was an offer, before this announcement:
and what I said after the annoucement:
Don't create your own post and then criticize me for your words. If you have a beef with me, then at least base it on fact.

I just received some bad news. You're being held back again.
I just quoted you and responded fer fucks sake you weirdo![]()
Not much I can do with that. Bu-bye.
