OT Report: ‘Multiple Teams’ Talking Trades For DeAndre Jordan

I think it's safe to say our defense has drastically improved since Nurk came along.

I don't disagree. Which is why I said I wouldn't make the trade. He is not as good right now defensively as DJ nor he is as good as a rebounder, but he is better offensively and is a better passer (Even though he makes some stupid ones) But I will assume Nurk will get better at everything.

Nonetheless I would not go as far to say the idea is silly. We would be getting an excellent rebounder and rim protector in his prime. That is nothing to quickly dismiss. But the contract uncertainty makes it less attractive.

Nurk has a better defensive win share rating than DJ. Nurk has a better defensive box plus/minus than DJ. Nurk has a much better defensive rating than DJ.

Living in LA I've seen a lot of Clippers games. DJ is great at defensive rebounds and help defense with highlight blocks, but his one on one defense is just average.

I just proposed Nurk-RoLo trade and guess what, theres people who would do that
how deluded are POR fans, seriously...

BEN GOLLIVER:

All that being said, I’m with the chorus who believes that Portland and Nurkic need each other, and that would both would be measurably worse if they couldn’t reach a deal. When it comes to terms, he’s right in the same tier with guys like Mason Plumlee (3 years, $41 million), Cody Zeller (4 years, $56 million) and Kelly Olynyk (4 years, $50 million) in terms of their play last season. (Check out this comparison if you want to see specifics.) I would assume that range would serve as his basement for negotiations as long as he continues to post career numbers and the Blazers make the playoffs.

WOW JUST WOW... Plumlee, Zeller, Olynyk, REALLY ?!?!?!?!?!

DJ is not elite defensively, he's an elite rebounder and that's it. How anyone could even hesitate as to which they'd rather have at this stage of their careers is silly. Nurkic all the way.

I can't figure out why some are so down on Nurk suddenly. He had a few bad games when he was sick, and tonight he had a double double while our starting backcourt was 12 of 41 with two assists and 6turnovers and our starting SF had one more point than me. I know he had shitty turnovers tonight but he is not the problem.

He ALLWAYS has turnovers, ALLWAYS! and they are to often unforced, so it's speak for his bad Basketball IQ. So he is absolutely inconstant in his midrange Jumper. Sometimes he hits it when he is open, sometimes he cant't even hit the rim. Same with the layups, how many open layups Nurkic have missed this Season? That speak he has absolutely no feeling for a Jumper and no Touch in his hands. Today as a big you need to shot the ball, lowpost scorers are old schol.

Then our only replays would be dunks, and they'd never show players shooting free throws. No thanks.

It's not about you, it's about getting @HCP that much closer to his beloved Lakers.

Screw @HCP. I need quality replays, and he provides that. Jordan has not demonstrated he can carry HCPs jock in that department.

Chris Paul for Deandre? With Harden and Deandre, would Chris Paul be a waste in Houston?
