I would hope they're either in pitch black and it hasn't imploded and they basically just fall asleep....or it imploded and they died instantly without suffering.

I think its kinda sick and fucked up how many people are making fun of this whole thing(Not on here mainly social media). Who cares that they are super rich and that is how they got to go on this thing?Still have families and are human beings. Hope they find them, but doesn't seem promising.

Seems like maybe the CEO's distrust of expertise, education, and no respect for certifications are what doomed this group. Which party has been attacking expertise, education, certifications, and institutions? Oh, that's right... Republicans

It looks like the implosion would have killed them in 30 milliseconds or less, which is effectively before they even knew what was happening, completely instant. I’m glad for this; human suffering is awful.

But seriously, also fuck billionaires. The goddamn hubris of mocking safety regulations before getting crushed in a hubris machine while looking for the wreckage of The Hubris Machine. I hope the other billionaires privatizing our entire existence take note.

The port window that was rated for 1/3 the depth of their final destination? That port window? I’m just so angry about this because even though I hate billionaires they just needed to listen to one person once to avoid this. It’s like banging your head against a wall knowing these people who don’t think the rules apply to them (including the rules of fucking physics) are in control of all of our lives to an ever increasing degree.

Yeah, still pretty violent, but painless so yeah, better than suffering. But, at least the other way they might have had a chance.
 
I can’t get over how angry this makes me feel. Because this won’t change anything. Billionaires, the entire billionaire class, is just… untethered from compassion, and they’re rewarded for it so obscenely, and when they do this shit it won’t change anything because the whole thing about being that fucking rich is that you start thinking “it won’t happen to me I’m special” like what the actual fuck? And we’re toiling under these people forever? We as the entirety of the human endeavor are just propping up these zero-empathy boneheads who think they’re gods?! Im fucking livid.
 
So, what were the sounds they heard...the banging?

Is it possible they got stuck on the bottom, were banging for help, and after some time, it imploded? It seems like if it was going to implode it would have as soon as they reached the given depth passed the windows maximum pressure.

I saw an article that said when a Navy sub went down years ago, they thought they heard banging and and it ended up that they think it was just geologic or something else.

-The experts who have examined the wreckage do not believe the window is what failed. It was the carbon fiber hull.
-They believe the crew knew that the hull was failing, had dropped their weights and were on the ascent before it failed.
