Where'd ya get that crystal ball?

Did you steal it from a mentally challenged blind man?
Mags is going to report you for that.

I talked to the guy at the dmv when he asked if I wanted to register to vote. I asked if more people were registering lately and he said yes and they referenced Trump.

Why? Both Rhonda and Mayweather like to beat women.
I get that people don't like Mayweather. I didn't for a long time. He's paranoid, can bitch in public and fought a lot of his opponents past their prime. But as a welterweight, he was the greatest defensive boxer we have seen since Willy Pep. Boxing is a dying art form and Floyd was a master class. When MMA critics say that Floyd wouldn't last a few seconds in their ring, they don't know what the f-ck they are talking about. Boxing is Chess and MMA is checkers. No. He's not Roger Staubach as a person, but give the guy his due.

I'm not sure what that has to do with my post. It doesn't excuse what he's done.

Floyd Mayweather has a history of beating women.

This is documented. The first known incident came in 2001, when court documents say Mayweather got into an argument with Melissa Brim, the mother of his daughter, over child support and punched her three times in the face. Mayweather plead guilty to two counts of domestic battery and got a suspended six-month jail sentence, a fine, and community service.

In 2003, Mayweather was found guilty of battery for hitting Herneatha McGill and Karra Blackburn, two friends of Josie Harris, who is the mother of three of Mayweather’s children.

In 2005, Mayweather was charged with felony battery over an incident with Harris, in which Harris told police that Mayweather punched her, kicked her, and dragged her by her hair. Harris later recanted that statement during trial, and Mayweather was found not guilty.

In 2010, Mayweather was arrested for punching Harris and pulling her hair, and pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault and harassment. He served two months in prison.

No. I wasn't debating that. He's a scumbag as a person. But it seems like the critics have been questioning his legacy as a boxer. Oscar De LaHoya even wrote an article this month in Playboy that criticized him. And it seems like every contact sport-media darling is questioning his legacy. I just find the timing and the sheer amount of Twitter posts funny.

You have a typo in your signature.

Not sure how MMA can be less complex than boxing which is one of MMA's components. Can you expound on this?

Bad comparison.... they are just different disciplines. But I've followed boxing for years and it's a called the sweet science for a reason. MMA I know is multiple styles.

P.S. I realize that MMA is the future and boxing is the proverbial dead doo doo bird. But I've been lucky enough to see fights like Chavez/Whitaker and the first Gatti/Ward fight. And I'll put those up with any SuperBowl/Blazer victory you've ever seen. But that era is pretty much gone. I'm am getting old.

Fair enough. I also like boxing and admire the sport.

I don't think boxing is going anywhere. They need new stars to rise up and it will happen eventually. Guys like GGG are leading the way although they get more attention overseas.

There are over 1,300 middleweights ranked on Box-Rec right now. That's one weight class with nearly 3x the number of fighters in the UFC total. Boxing will always be the predominant combat sport. Generally speaking MMA and the UFC are on the decline from where they were five years ago although the company is worth more (which says something about the way the UFC does it's business).

Well. My hope is that their will be a new generation of boxers in a given range of weight classes (whether light middle or heavyweight) Similar to the 80's with Duran, Hearns, Pryor, Arguello, Hagler and Leonard. You can have all the best fighters in the world but they need to be able to draw box office. They are trying to build GGG up right now and yes he's very good, but the layman says, "well, who has he fought?" He needs another adversary(s) to identify with the public.

Nice! Nothing against Rousey, but the hype surrounding her was so out of hand...like she was the most outstanding person to every walk the planet.

when you're spoon fed opponents, you can look invincible. her last opponent (last night), obviously had a skill set that most if not all of her previous opponents didn't have. I'm not surprised that she lost to someone who was a boxer and a kick boxer.

I also don't give a shit about it.

I care because it will be fun to hear local Vegas sports talk radio discuss it. That shit is huge here.

His punishments.... They say it's ok to beat up Black women... I want someone to WHOOP his ass SO BAD...

How can you call this an upset when Holly dominated the way she did?

Thrashed.

She isn't even attractive. They have to cake the makeup on to make her look somewhat presentable.

It's all about the hype. Remember Kimbo Slice, he wasn't even that good, had only had a few matches and when he lost to Seth Petrazelli, he announcer acted like he was having a stroke saying "one of the most incredible upsets in the history of mixed martial arts."

Holly Holm was 10-0 in MMA Rousey was 12-0. But Rousey had such a huge hype machine behind her, with guys like Joe Rogan saying she could be a male MMA fighter in her weight class.

Seems Rousey is a bit of a sore loser. The fighters are supposed to stay after for post game interview, but Rousey just took off. To be fair, maybe it was because she had to go to the hospital, but the talk is Dana expected her to stay and she ducked out.

Also, why not congratulate your opponent? She's a poor sport and wouldn't even touch gloves before the fight.

She is a poor sport but she was taken to hospital to have plastic surgery on her split bottom lip. Hard to say if she would've been able to attend the PFP with a serious mouth injury but Robbie Lawler did, so...
