The 10 year track record of a scout we have had for less than 8 years? Brilliant.

His first official draft was 07', but he had only been here less than a couple of weeks at that point. In reality 08' was his first draft

Bayless
Claver
Babbitt
Williams
Smith

Not awesome, but not a lot to go on drafting where we did

thought buchanon was hired in 2004? Sorry, I didn't mean as head scout, just going off of his initial hire date.

I'm generalizing the scouting staff. Whomever they brought in since 2002 have failed in every draft outside the 2006 draft and 2008.

Ah. You are probably right. I had him as head of college scouting in 07'

With the economy starting to open up, I now get occasional calls from prospective employers. I have not posted a resume except internally for nearly 6 years, so they are really digging to find mine. And I always return calls (never know when you might need good relations with someone) and politely tell them I'm not interested. Absolutely nothing to do with the companies. Some have tried to sell me on relocating, generally to LA/SD area and that's an even bigger no.

Stop trying to find insults everywhere.

Wow. The sunshine-pumper-brigade is out in force today.

Get with the program MM. NBA teams don't need GMs, or coaches, or even decent players. As long as we have Bert and the logo - all is well!

2003 they had the 23rd pick and found a pretty good 6th man with that pick. Finding a solid role player with the 23rd pick should be considered a good draft, so you'r wrong on that one, IMO. I am not a huge fan of Outlaw, and he has his flaws, but it's the 23rd pick, you can't judge a draft expecting all stars all over the place, and if not, it is a failure. I think 2003 is just fine, 2006, 2007, 2008. 04 and 05 sucked. Don't like the claver pick personally, but they went high upside on the thought we didn't need to add more rookies to the team. A flaw in scouting, or GM practice? That's more on the GM and roster building overall, IMO. I'm not going to bother with 2010 and 11 this early on.

Agree, but I dont expect the debbie downers to see this

If you look at the draft results of every team in the league for the past 5 years, you will see that almost every team has "failed" at the draft if you hold them to the same standards.
