“If Ledo dressed for Providence this year they’d have won at least 6 maybe 7 more games and 4 more in conference. That’s how much of an impact the kid has. He’s a tremendous s scorer and get fill it up in a hurry. He can play 3 positions and people have him pegged as a pure 2, but he can pass. I can see him being able to handle 1-3 responsibilities right away. He can guard the one and two at the next level and as he fills out he’ll do okay in guarding SFs… He’s fearless and can score in every way. Off screens, pick and roll, shot fake to the rim, shot fake and pull. He’s a born scorer for sure.”

I think you have the two guys -- McCollum and Caldwell-Pope right. Both players are high on their board. I agree with you on Adams, though I think Adams is tougher and the Blazers may just need the extra body. This is way out of left field, but I'm not totally discounting a sleeper pick like Antetokounmpo or Ricky Ledo here if McCollum and Caldwell-Pope are both gone

Ledo at 10? I like the guy as a sleeper but that is crazy talk. If you get another first round pick then sure.
 
Had he played where would Ledo have gone in this draft?

He didn't play a single game and is still slotted to be a first-rounder.

Exactly what I've been harping on - and some people still seem to not understand the fact that he didn't play and he may legitimately go before the late 20s.

Had he played, to the level I believe he is, he'd be top 5. Probably the top SG in the draft, maybe just behind Oladipo due to the character issues in HS.

What do you think, Fez?
 
A couple of weeks ago he was projected in the 2nd round, so he was discussion for our picks. Now that mocks put him at the end of the 1st, he's out of our reach. He's no longer any secret, so I posted

The question I asked you previously was: would you be willing to trade both second rounders, to move into the first, for him? I want to gauge what OTHERS think of his ability based on the fact that he is exactly what we have asked for in a SG and based on the fact that despite him not playing all year, he still might be a 1st round pick, which is a testament to not only his workouts, but how good he really is.

I know I'd personally draft him at 10, if I had to. Better than McLemore, Oladipo, Shabazz, IMO.

I don't see where you asked me not the board, but my answer is: I'm always in favor of trading the #39 and #40 for a 1st round pick--Ledo or no Ledo.

Merging 2nds into a 1st happens about once every 20 years.
 
I sure hope we aren't looking in this draft for a difference maker. That would be very disappointing.
 
Yes, we should wait for this summer's inevitable superstar free agent signing.

There's a thread somewhere on here that touches on the Ledo situation. But I think his jumper is very intriguing. He's a bit of a mystery because he hasn't played college ball. Apparently he has issues and some scouts wonder if he is a pro "off the court." The situation will be key for him. He can be an offensive force but needs structure. Kind of like the DMC of SG's.

Portland provides plenty of structure for him.

Not only is his jumper intriguing, considering he is an elite level scorer, but he is a very willing, capable, and high level passer and playmaker.

If his mind is right, he is a difference maker, IMO. - Meant for Mags.

Today's #Blazers workout gets more impressive. Got word Providence G Ricky Ledo is included along w/ C Steven Adams and C Rudy Gobert.

You would have to have a lot of information on a guy to overcome a quote like that. Sounds like a good second round pick.

Either he'd better be really, really good so he can get away with being an ahole (think Kobe Bryant before he grew up a bit) and not negatively impacting the team through his off-the-court antics, or he is destined for a career of bouncing around foreign leagues.
 
Or it's an NBA coach, who coaches for a team hoping to draft him. Eh?

A statement like that requires an explanation.

Single worst human being? WTF is this guy talking about, exactly? PLease don't tell me Ledo is involved in cat juggling?

What program did Ledo "kill"? And how?

Olshey's got to know that drafting this guy would amount to saying: "anything I say about 'culture' is total BS."

Let someone else take the gamble, with any luck before #10. I doubt it, though.
 
We only have scouting reports on Ledo but after reading up on his game he sounds a lot like a Jamal Crawford type of guard.

I just hope he doesn't play with blinders on like Jamal.

Pretty sure he legitimately played PG in HS until he grew. Still is an above-average playmaker. Willing passer. Thats not J Crossover.
