My niece and great nephew sat in row B behind the Utah bench. I guess some of our fans were harassing Utah when Ricky Rubio got upset and started yellinf at the fans "SHUT THE FUCK UP!". Nice guy, huh.

It kind of reminds me of Bonzi Wells.

Rubio is ridiculously underrated. But the foul trouble and Dame got in his head last night.

Fans are the worst sometimes. Need to be reeled in. I took my three sons to a Padre game in SD during spring break and the guy behind us was absolutely hammered and using all kinds of language etc. He almost fell onto us once. Fucking ridiculous.

I have no problem with Rubio saying something EXCEPT that kids would hear his language. Otherwise F that fan.

You have no idea what "that fan" said. The OP just mentioned that some fans were "harassing" Rubio. Maybe they were calling him Bricky...

He was EXTREMELY overrated early in his career. He is what he is, a great passing, poor shooting, good defending PG with decent size..

Being paired with Donovan Mitchell is the perfect situation for Rubio. He can now play off the ball late in the game and let Mitchell take over. In MIN he was frequently benched in the 4th quarter because other teams would just back off him completely, play the passing lanes and dare him to shoot.

Being a non-scoring threat makes him ill suited to be a lead guard in today's NBA. Paired with Mitchell, he's no longer the lead guard.

Nobody with a career FG% of 38.5 can be underrated. They are just “rated”.
I've been all in on the Ricky bandwagon since he was throwing no look passes to Rudy in 2007. My Ricky fandom is irrational, but some of this has to do with expectations. People thought he was the next Pistol Pete. He's clearly not that. He's a terrific playmaker and defender.

I think Westbrook will have a handful with him.

Combine Rubio’s passing with Rudy Fernandez’s shooting and you’d have a complete ball player.....as long as you weren’t too picky about that defense thing......

Rubio is one of the best 5 PG defenders in the league.

See what I mean regarding the underrating?

His defense is overrated as he gets steals because he gambles but his man on man defense is still suspect. He has Gobert so he has him to save his butt. Westbrook averaged a triple double against Utah where as against Portland his shooting percentages, rebounds and assists were down compared to most teams.

Ok. That fan still sucks.

So you're of the opinion that fans are not part of the game, and should just sit there and cheer?

Heckling is part of sports. There's a reason why we have home court advantage. Obviously there are some things that should be out of bounds, but it's totally legit to heckle a player.

A fan can heckle if they want, and a player can tell said fan to the shut the fuck up. Simple.

I think it’s dumb. Portland’s HC advantage is 99% from cheering not yelling at players. I don’t get it personally.

Felt like Rubio played one of his worst games of the season last night.
Why he didn't get pulled last night I will never know.
He spent more time complaining about marginal contact in a physical game.
Than he did making the game easier for those who cannot create for themselves.

If I was the coach, I would've yanked him for that O'neale guy or Crowder.
