LOBR?

BROL would be better.

No. NO... NONONONONONONO
Bad dog.
Leonard tops that list because I invested in his ass.
We could go like this though...
Loenard
Oden
Roy
Bowie

That would be in draft order starting with most recent....

Lorb..

I just Lorbed in my mouth...Ugh.

Uncle Cliffy should maybe be on it.

Which is kinda depressing.

Clyde Porter LMA and Sheed are the all time leaders in win shares.

I just got back from a convention with my daughter, and one of the booths had a bunch of Mt. Rushmore themed pictures. Here's the one for Rip City -

Clyde, Rasheed, Dame, and Walton
. Not bad. But I would have put Lucas instead of Rasheed. Or maybe even Petrie.

Is Dame a given as one of the 4? Should Porter be there instead?

What's your Rip City Mt. Rushmore?
Very good call. I liked Sheed a lot. But he does not belong there ahead of Lucas or Petrie.

My first thought, probably since Sheed was a power forward, but also because he brought us a championship, was also Lucas. But considering the theme of a Mt Rushmore, I'd strongly argue for Petrie. Petrie was the young franchise's first ROY and first star. Hell if he'd had the benefit of the three point line his Blazers scoring records might be untouchable.

I wonder if the artist who did that was even around during the Petrie / Wicks era. Or even the Walton / Lucas era, frankly.

So considering it's an historical monument, and I've thought about it for about 60 seconds, I guess I'd leave off Dame and go with: Petrie / Walton / Lucas / Drexler

Leaving Petrie, the very first Blazer (and All Star) off is like leaving Washington off of the real Mt. Rushmore. Lucas belongs there way, way more than Wallace. I cant believe its even in question......
QFT!!!

Seriously /thread

My guess is the artist wanted to celebrate as many periods of Blazers history as possible. Walton: '70s, Drexler: '80s/'90s, 'Sheed: '00s, Lillard: current.

Seems like as good an approach as any.
Would really have to start with Petrie though...I agree with UCD on that one...it is a solid list though...I think we need a 10 player Mt Rushmore

Dame, CJ, Nurkic, Collins

You're just gonna have to trust me on them beating out all the former players. (I came back in time to post this....)

Patty Mills, Luke Schenscher, Chris Anstey, CJ Bruton

For those who don't think Lillard has been here long enough, keep in mind that Petrie was only a Blazer for 6 seaons. Dame already has more career assists and rebounds that Petrie and will pass him in points by the all star break.

Lillard's career scoring average through 5 seasons is 22.4 ppg. Petrie's through 6 seasons was 21.8 ppg. Close, but Lillard kills Petrie in all advanced stats.

Lillard:
Career PER = 20.2
Career TS% = .565
Career WS = 45.4
Career WS/48 = .152
Career VORP = 18.7

Petrie:
Career PER = 15.8
Career TS% = .502
Career WS = 26.1
Career WS/48 = .075
Career VORP = 0.3

IMHO, Lillard already deserves a place ahead of Petrie. Yes, Petrie was the first player we ever drafted. Big deal. He never once led us to the post season, let alone the 2nd round.

Mine:
Walton, Drexler, Lillard, Dr. Jack

If it was players only, I'd take Luke in place of Dr. Jack.
