For those who don't think Lillard has been here long enough, keep in mind that Petrie was only a Blazer for 6 seaons. Dame already has more career assists and rebounds that Petrie and will pass him in points by the all star break.

Lillard's career scoring average through 5 seasons is 22.4 ppg. Petrie's through 6 seasons was 21.8 ppg. Close, but Lillard kills Petrie in all advanced stats.

Lillard:
Career PER = 20.2
Career TS% = .565
Career WS = 45.4
Career WS/48 = .152
Career VORP = 18.7

Petrie:
Career PER = 15.8
Career TS% = .502
Career WS = 26.1
Career WS/48 = .075
Career VORP = 0.3

IMHO, Lillard already deserves a place ahead of Petrie. Yes, Petrie was the first player we ever drafted. Big deal. He never once led us to the post season, let alone the 2nd round.

Mine:
Walton, Drexler, Lillard, Dr. Jack

If it was players only, I'd take Luke in place of Dr. Jack.

No 3pt line in when Petrie played.

So? That doesn't explain why he had far fewer rebounds, far fewer assists and never led his team to the playoffs.

Those choosing Petrie are voting based on nostalgia, not actual performance. Petrie was a good scorer, but that's all he was (well, that and a damn fine GM).

Lillard is flat out better, and I think if you asked Geoff Petrie, even he would agree.

I'm sure each of us has a little different criteria for the composition of our Mt Rushmore. For some, it's straight up performance, from beginning to modern day. Others, playoff success. Others, cummulative stats as a Blazer. I'm looking at it in terms of the "founders" who got us where we are today. Like Ramsey, Walton, Lucas, Petrie. Just my slant. Other slants are just as good. And interesting.

To me it's simply about all time greats. Abe Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt were not founding fathers. If Mt. Rushmore were about "founders" you'd see John Adams and James Madison up there with Washington and Jefferson, instead of Lincoln and Roosevelt.
