If it works for waived players why wouldn't it work for Bogut if Philly traded him back to GS?

If it specifies being waived with (paraphrasing) "if the 3rd team waives him" then that seems lile a part of the process because they have no need to specify that guy being waived.

No, that is just the example they used. The important part was going to another team voids the original reacquiring rule.
