What happened to Thursday?I was thinking about starting the draft Sunday night, June 9th at 5pm.
What do you guys think?
They've had a long sustained run of success, and you've broken it down to shit, with a cap space plan, and you think fans would be hopeful?
Honestly, doing it Sunday evening gives me a little more time to set things up properly. I'm trying to do this right so we don't have people vanish afterwards. What happened to Thursday?

Not really, unless you want to make and be in charge of the official draft board during the draft.Do you need help setting up?
Oh gotcha. Not really, unless you want to make and be in charge of the official draft board during the draft.
I meant that I'm trying to help several people with some of their team decisions and would like to have most of that wrapped up before hand.
Blazer fans for years have complained about purgatory and thinking things should get torn down. The spurs run of success came with Tim Duncan, Manu, and Tony Parker. Paying LMA and Derozan as your stars is pretty much the definitions of lets enjoy being a 1st round exit every year. If they wanted to chase the GM out of town they shouldve done that when the best they could do for Kawhi was Derozan. They've had a long sustained run of success, and you've broken it down to shit, with a cap space plan, and you think fans would be hopeful?

Utah is looking at 3 team deals right now. Has the potential to help a team out that might be looking to shed a big contract of a useful player...
I agree with @BonesJonesI was thinking about starting the draft Sunday night, June 9th at 5pm.

Milwaukee and Memphis possibly entering into this potential blockbuster trade consisting of several moves!!
But what is your plan really? They ve never been a free agent destination as well so? I mean the purpose is to do something good for them. The way i see it your team would be even bad for G League and the Spurs fans would not normally accept it as it has not been like this for 20 years now. And you won't even be here for next season's free agency so how will your work be judged. We just do it for this summer.
I will be working until 6:30 but will have internet access and hopefully not much work to do. It is then a 25 minute drive home. 5 o clock any week day is ok.I was thinking about starting the draft Sunday night, June 9th at 5pm.

Well first off HJ has said multiple times to try to build your team like it's not just for this summer. So my plan is pretty simple, Texas / San Antonio is a place Free agents have gone, we still have Pops, we have a lot of draft picks and we a ton of salary cap space. They would destroy a G-League team, by the way, that's just nonsense. So I have a team that all of a sudden is young, not trodden down by big contracts to guys that aren't good enough to bring a title. I also got 3, 1st rounders this year and SAS has been good at finding guys mid to late 1st round. But what is your plan really? They ve never been a free agent destination as well so? Not sure if you would call any of these guys quality vets, but Cleveland has John Henson, Mosgov and Brandon Knight. They will throw in a second round pick also opn the two with the biggest contracts. (they are all expiring). Knight is healthy again and had some good games late in the season. Henson has recovered from wrist surgery and has been averaging about 10 rebounds and 2 blocks per 36 in his last two years. Under Budenholzer he was encouraged to take threes and hit at .355 with six attempts a game.Dallas is trying to bring a quality veteran for its TPE (approx 21M). If nobody is available, the Mavs could envision helping another team by taking a bad contract with pick(s).
Except Doncic, nobody is off the table in trade discussions.
Yes, we do it for this summer but I personally have tried also to do what is best for the longer term. But what is your plan really? They ve never been a free agent destination as well so? SlowThat works for me. Are we doing it like the real draft, all at once, or are we going to take our time and do it slow?
If you’re doing it this weekend, I will send you my boards one for NYK one for the Spurs. Just in case I cant make it.Slow
One of the reasons for waiting is that I know there are trades (such as yours) that involve draft picks but also require future cap space to pull off. Doing the draft Thursday doesn't give me enough time to clear all those moves along with getting everyone's team decisions processed. What happens if someone is picked for you at #3 and the trade falls apart later? I'm fine pushing it later into next week too if people can't make Sunday work.
Indiana is getting in on their first taste of the action this off season.
The People's Champ: Will "The Thrill" Barton is about to be a Pacer!
The Bucks are getting the 18th pick as they continue to shed salary.
The Grizzlies have landed Mo Bamba along with Dougie Buckets.
Yay!Hoop you got your guy

Much rather be in that position then a borderline playoff team and 1st round exit with not much cap space and guys that don't really fit the modern NBA. Demar and LMA are both good, but they can't be your main pieces.
It's not that I don't like DeRozan, I just don't think you can win with two midrange guys that can't shoot 3's in today's NBA. I probably sold a bit low on him, but I did get out of 3-4 years of his contract. I think he and LMA are fine but have much longer contracts that I'd like for a team that doesn't seem to be going anywhere. I actually think the Spurs are making a mistake right now by trying to hang on to this, "We've been successful" thing, they were successful when they had 3 guys who will be HoF'ers. Trying to "extend" that with a couple of borderline all-stars, doesn't make much sense. I think the guy I'll regret trading the most is Murray actually. Pop's signed on to coach team USA, and is going to be extended with the spurs for 3-4 more years at least. Next summer, depending on how things go I've got a shot to bring in AD, Draymond Green, Kevin Durant (he likes signing one year deals), Porzingis may be available too.My "issue" is that with those moves you don't have Pop. He retired. You also let your dislike for DeRozans style of play to get in the way and you sold extremely low on him. This is my opinion of course. I don't agree with your plan so far because some teams have established a certain culture and you going against it, but you are the new GM that was i suppose was hired to shake things so that is ok.
DeRozan only had 2 years left on his contract. It's not that I don't like DeRozan, I just don't think you can win with two midrange guys that can't shoot 3's in today's NBA.
