That just leaves the stupid Thunder as the only team left. They are over the cap and I think only have one draft pick so whoever takes them really could put in as minimal effort as they wanted.

Assuming we get someone to be the Thunder today. When do you guys want to open things up? Tonight at maybe like 7PM Pacific? Or should we wait a day for all the new people to read the rules and study their teams?

I'll start a new thread with the rules and official team selections and all that.

I think we start tonight. Post the rules and team selections in the new thread. People can lead the rules and learn as they go. People who played will pming them about trades and can further explain things if needed. If anyone doesn't understand something they can PM you, me, or Bones

You said dont complete or talk trades with others. Never said anything about stating plans publicly. Didnt think it mattered. Thats where the miscommunication was on my end.

I actually would end up spending more time with OkC than the Dubs. More moving parts.

Mi need a day. Wont be able to look into things until tonight aNd tomorrow evening.

Even if it starts today. Things will take time. The draft will be set down the road. RC2 GM's will have time to "make calls" and "answer phones," in order to get an idea of what direction they want to go in. People should take their time leading up to the draft. Think about if moves really help their team or not. What are the best moves?
 
I think if it's possible we should announce teams, and all that tonight, and put a "24-hour" thing on it where no moves can be officially made until 7pm (pst) or so tomorrow night. That way people who are ready can start talking, but those who aren't also have a day or so to get a grasp on the rules and on their teams.

Like our own moratorium period where nothing is allowed, but everything is done anyways.

Or there are a few players that have 2 teams if you want the Rockets, Spurs, or Timberwolves instead.
 
Alright everyone. All teams are accounted for! Awesome! This is going to be great with so many different people around.

I'm going to start a new thread with the official team announcements, rules, and for trade discussions (once we start).

Please continue discussing what is best for everyone in here in terms of when to actually start. I do understand that people need time to look things over but I also agree with @Chris Craig that sometimes the best way to do it is to just learn as you go. With today being a holiday I don't know if that is better or worse for people to be able to be involved this evening.

I'm fine either way, just don't start contacting people or throwing out rumors until we officially start.

Start tonight

Start tomorrow morning

Start tomorrow night

One question after reading the rules. I get that "real" GM's would not want the offers made public, but isn't the fun of this to see all the offers?
I am good doing it by PM, I am just wondering.

I agree that it's more fun to see that. You could even leak private conversations to see if there are better offers.

Last year I found it was pretty clear what players were being shopped. If you post something like CJ is available, send me you best offers then you should get some traction with that and people can choose whether to talk to you in private or on the board.

There weren't that many trades that came out of left field.

Tonights fine with me, though the moratorium idea I liked too, not much of an answer but Ill vote for tomorrow night just so you have a hanging chad to recount.
