My cable bill is zero. Not everyone can get cable.
Seriously? You really want to go there?
I just said i get it free on my laptop when i travel.
Next maybe brush up on cable access.
Over 90% of the US population has access to cable and high speed internet.

Luckily KGW wasn't the only option.

Why would I change my provider or pay $100 per month (of which only a tiny percent goes to the Blazers) when I can just go click on a link no matter when or where I'm at?

Cause pirating is illegal?

Just because you can get cable doesn't mean you get root. And if you can get cable that doesn't have Root you're stuck paying for DirecTV as well as your internet.

Or you could just click a link and not.

Hulu needs to add Root

Right? Is there a point you are making? If you want to sit at your computer and watch a game or watch it on your phone or better yet hook your computer up to your TV? Have at it.
I’m going to sit in the comfort of my front room or bedroom or family room and watch a game without worrying about the $6.60 I spend to watch it.
Click on your illegal streams all you want.
I can also DVR the game if need be.

Root Sports and all the other networks they offered signed the contract with Evoca. Not the Trail Blazers, Mariners, or Kraken (teams on Root). The Trail Blazers just helped promote the service, let fans know a new option was available.
What this dude said. Educate yourself before commenting on things you don't know the details about. I stay away from player efficiency and other nerd number topics, some on here should do the same. After all this time you think they'd figure it out.

The Blazers signed the deal with root instead of kgw or YouTube. The Blazers made that choice. They didn't have to sign with root.
KGW and YouTube did not make offers to broadcast the games.

Oops, I apologize for getting in the middle of this. Just seeing this lame ass thread. Didn't realize the Brew guy was dropping knowledge everywhere.

if we could just watch the blazer games a la carte in the market like league pass allows people outside of the market to do, then there would hardly be any complaints.

i just can't justify the cost of cable with all the useless channels when all i would really use it for are games.

i already pay for netflix/prime/peacock/hulu and share pwds with family to watch hbo max. Adding a cost of $75-100 or whatever it is to a cable company just isn't worth it for me.

that said, i'm moving out of the market here in a few weeks once again and it will be so easy to watch games on LP once more (product certainly seems improved so far this year). i think this is the gripe most people have; it should not be easier/cheaper to watch games outside the market than it is within. And this battle is with the antiquated blackout restrictions that enable this kind of monopolizing by the local cable companies.

I just turn on my TV and watch the game. My cable bill is about $100 bucks. Lets see? In November i watched 15 games on TV. (one game i went to)
Thar's just under $7 a game. I still get all the other channels as well.
Tell me exactly how the Blazers are making watching the team unaffordable or making it so people can't watch the games?
When I'm traveling out of town i can get the game on my laptop at no extra cost.
am i the only one who thinks $7 to just watch a game on TV is an exorbitant price?

I dunno... i used to live in Indiana for almost a decade from 2012-2021 where i could get in the arena for $5 to watch games in person. Not the Lebron/Curry games, but pretty damn good ones. I have paid $9 to watch a ECSF game against the Melo Knicks even. The scales are just off for me. I'm about to move to the NY area so I'm sure I'm in for a shock with all this stuff.

Doesnt Direct TV have Root?

Here's what you do FAMS... don't EVER expect this to change and you won't be let down and pissed off EVERY year. It will ALWAYS be this way. In a weird way maybe some on here should look at our Blazers the same..... Don't expect to go to the finals and you'll be content every May.

there is talk of streaming being a key part of the new TV deal in 25. Let's see what happens.

Yeah - I like Hulu because it's easy to save shows to watch later by adding them to my stuff. I didn't mind adding Evoca for $30 a month but now I guess I'll just follow the Blazers on line.

Same. I'll probably switch though if Evoca does go under.

I'm not pissed. I'm just consuming the most convenient way possible.
