Passed today...the singer of Be My Baby and lead singer of the Ronnettes....married nut case Phil Spector but was rumored to have been in love with George Harrison on the side but being a Beatle....George couldn't follow his heart there as she was married. She had a great voice and was a great talent!

Damn, just heard Ronettes song today. They were among the most successful of what we're gaggingly called girl groups, young female, mostly Black, pop vocalists. Paid peanuts while white male execs cashed in, even names reflected misogyny, diminutives like Ronettes, Shirelles, Toys.
