Robert Covington

While I don't disagree with you, does Little's potential vary significantly from Covington's actual?

I actually like Covington. He's the perfect role player and 6'9. He's 28 years old and is what he is at this point. How much does he make?
Little was a projected lotto pick, he's 19 and will be on the cheap for a few years and we don't know what he is or will be at this point. All i know is we've taken huge lumps in the draft in the past, maybe this is the time it works out for us.

This would be a tough one. Convington for three years at a good contract is really tempting. I would really like to keep Little as he appears to be a gift, but if you want to make a splash on Dame's timeline, you make that trade. Dame, CJ, Covington, Collins, Nurk (bench: Ant, Baz, ML, Aminu?) is pretty solid and might be the best lineup they could get without taking a riskier shot at a third star (Griffin, etc.)

That's just it, Little is an intriguing prospect, but at this time he is just that, a prospect. If he was the difference between being able to make a deal or not, he's in the deal.

lol. I've left scathing comments on their articles before because they were so clueless. Never knew I was berating children. I'm a jerk.
Don't feel bad. I used to take those articles as gold, until someone pointed out to me; who was actually writing, and able to write the articles. Lol. Whoops.

Don't recall anyone taking the article as gold or touting it as any more than a guy writing an opinion piece. Do you recall why and what I posted it to?

I would not trade Little for Covington who has shown to be quite injury prone...

Covington has been overrated by this forum. He's aight...

As I recall, you posted it as support for your contention that the idea that Robert Covington isn't all that available wasn't as common as Bones believed it to be.

Would you be so kind as to help explain to the rest of us how a single Blazer fan's baseless trade proposal counters Bones' claim that the common thought (obvious implication being around the league) is that the Wolves aren't particularly interested in dealing him?

Even last year, playing 35 games, his VORP of 1.3 would have been tied with CJ for 5th on the Blazers. The 2.9 and 1.8 he had the two years prior would be 3rd behind only Dame and Nurk.

I won't disagree with your health concerns; they're valid. But he's a very good player.

Why is that such a touted stat? Value Over Replacement Player. Doesn't that just mean that his backup sucks?

Also, I've seen Covington Play extensively and again IMO he's just aight... I would not trade Little over him who I expect to be a far better player.

Hell, Covington IMO is Little's floor. Covington ain't that good a shooter. He doesn't even play well on 2K...

Sure we can trade for him, just not Little...

It was one quick article that I found in less than 10 seconds and the article had some logic to it. I have also seen it discussed in other articles as well. Nobody has any inside information in this forum to know one way or the other the availability of players in the NBA, but Minnesota drafted a small forward with a lottery pick and have other small forwards on the roster as well. That leads one to believe that some consolidation might be done and Covington fits into the category as being a player that could bring back a piece of need for the TWolves. Disagree if you want but that's my opinion and I am sticking to it. Nowhere have I said or indicated that he will be dealt though as I am not privy to that kind of info. bonesy isn't either no matter how many you tube videos he makes.

.378 from 3 last season... and elite level defense

Or it leads one to believe that they'll play RoCo at the 4, which is even more likely considering they dealt Saric and will likely lose Gibson in free agency.

But you're welcome to stick to your unsubstantiated opinion.

Yes, 2018 first team all-defense. I like Little, and would like to keep him, but he may never make first team all-defense.

Before he was injured all season and only played 35 games.

There are so many reasons to say no.

I wanna keep Little and obtain RoCo. I have really no issue doing Hark, Trent, and our 2020 pick for RoCo.

Which really isn’t an awful deal for Minnesota who is probably rebuilding for awhile now.

That is definitely a valid concern. My preference would be to get Covington by trading a future pick or other assets and let Little grow behind him. If he stays healthy, you win. If he doesn't, then you have a backup plan.

I think it is hard to argue a healthy Covington at the 3 for this team wouldn't be a huge plus, assuming you don't pay too much and have a backup plan.

Thanks, just as you are entitled to your unsubstantiated opinion as well. They could deal Covington for a power forward that fits that role better as well. Isn't it all just speculation anyway? :bgrin:

When did you pivot to Bones’ burner account?
I just find it hilarious that someone tries to prove their point by posting what amounts to a glorified forum post as their proof that Covington is available, then they double down on it, and then when he can find no actual evidence to support his stance he then tries to claim that he was just giving his opinion the whole time.
