Robert Downey Jr. is in the final stages of negotiations to play Iron Man in "Captain America 3," which will pit the two superheroes against each other in the popular "Civil War" storyline from the 2007 comic book series, according to Variety.
For a guy who said he was getting too old to play a superhero a year or two ago, Robert Downey Jr. seems to be signing up for a lot of superhero films.
Downey is already onboard for "Avengers: Age of Ultron," which hits theaters next year, plus "Avengers 3" after that. Last week, while doing press for "The Judge," (in which he does not play a superhero -- just a lawyer) he said he may indeed be back for "Iron Man 4."
