If the shot is not dropping. Beat your man off the dribble and go to the hoop. Be aggressive and find your shots elsewhere. So why doesn't he more often? I think it's mental but I also think it's physical ability. He's not nearly as quick, as fast, as elusive, as athletic as other point guards which makes him easier to defend. He knows this. He knows anything he is going to get he is going to labor for. There fore he relies on the perimeter game. The athletic part also inhibits him in the coverage of those more quicker, faster, athletic point guards.
The facepalm emoticon would come in really handy right here... Not as quick... Jesus... Really?? He only blows by the quickest point guard in the league right here...
