OT Rockets: Champs, Chokers, or something in between

BTW, a dynasty consists of a prolonged period of rule. So far, the Rockets Dynasty is in Year 0. Last I looked you got beat by 39, at home, against a Spurs Team that was missing Kawhi and Parker. Not exactly the stuff of dynasties.

Guess who's back.... back again..... 0.9 is back.... tell a friend.

Awfully big of you to hang your expectations on two guys who have never been able to do jack shit in the playoffs.

What does that say about Blazers management. Just 4 short years ago, you embarrassed us at home the first two games and .9 happened. Then just 2 short years ago, you advanced to the second round and we lost in the first round with a 41-41 season. Now we are a championship favorite (with Curry's injury - MCL Sprain) while the Blazers are just an above average good regular season but have no chance to beat the Rockets in a playoff series team.

We probably won't have to. You'll most likely need to get past SAS or UTA first. You remember the Spurs. The over-the-hill injury riddled team that owned HOU in the second round last year? You know, in the Year -1 of the Rockets "Dynasty".

Buuuuuut...you still live in Houston, so...does being an NBA contender really make it worth it?

I kind of wonder if the person who created this account (and the Maxwell one) realize that it's possible to trace IP's?

because strangely enough the two of them are the exact same.

You've got to admire a troll who can muster up this amount of bravado over a Rockets team that, at pretty much full strength, gave up a 24 point lead at home to a Blazers team that was missing Lillard, Harkless and Davis, while CJ suffered through one of his worst shooting nights of the season. Harden getting owned with back-to-back steals by a guard off the end of the Blazers' bench was one of the highlights of the year for me.

This guy just called Houston the favorites to win the title this year.

Please let us have a little fun with the baby troll before you hit him with the ban hammer...

The Warriors are done with Curry's injury history. Curry only played in 50 games this season. We would sweep the Cavs. The Cavs are basically just Lebron, spot up Love who is only an All-Star because his stats are inflated with no Kyrie, and a bunch of role players. Even if they trade for someone with the Brooklyn pick this summer, we would still sweep them. The Spurs are done because of Kawhi's tendinopathy. The Blazers are not a real contender (Harden, CP3, Capela, Gordon, Tucker, Ariza, Luc, Ryno, Green, Nene >>>>>>>>> Lillard, CJ, Nurk, Aminu, Turner, Harkless, Davis, Napier, Collins, Pat, Vonleh, Leonard). CP3, Capela, Ariza, Luc, and Green are all free agents this summer but they will come back for the repeat. Kyrie, Hayward, Horford, Tatum, Brown, Smart, Morris, Monroe, Baynes, Rozier, Kings pick, Grizzlies pick, Clippers pick, would be challenging but the Celtics just like the Warriors are done for the foreseeable future because of injuries and being injury prone. The Rockets dynasty is just beginning.

At least you admit that you're only a potential champion due to attrition. Sorta like GSW's first championship. Maybe you'll get lucky and get your "Durant" in order to have enough talent to win one the following year against teams fielding mostly healthy rosters? But then you'll be even more of a bitchmade team than you already are.

You may not want to play that injury card until CP3 proves he can make it through the post season without going down yet again. He's only played in 6 more games this year that Curry, and has a long history of getting injured/choking in the playoffs. Your so-called dynasty depends on his health every bit as much as GSW with Curry and BOS with Kyrie.

LOL. This forum is so salty towards the Rockets and Warriors. Warriors because they destroyed you in the last 2 playoffs (missing Curry in 2016 and Durant in 2017) and won 2 championships in 3 years. Rockets because they will destroy you if you manage to get past a Curry-less Warriors team, and because the Rockets will win the next 3 championships at least.

Unlike the Rockets, the Warriors have proven they are a championship caliber team. The Rockets haven't proven anything.

Precisely. I'm glad this guy is having fun fluffing his feathers, but methinks he might be a tad premature with his bravado.

If the Rockets do in fact win a title, great for them. It will mean that Chris Paul and Mike D'antoni actually got past the 2nd round (for the first time each), and will probably mean they actually won a game against the Raptors (for the first time this season). But claiming that they'll win "the next 3 championships at least"...that's just silly

Who said anything about being salty towards the Warriors? We only call out ridiculously stupid posts by Rocket fans who foolishly count their eggs before they hatch. If the Rockets win, come back and gloat all you want. We all know when they lose you will never use this name in here again though.

BTW, while this whole thread is about as trollish as it gets, I don't really have a problem with it as long as everything stays civil on both sides, so it's not likely to see any moderation action.

One great thing about a troll dishing opinions about dynasty is that it makes you look at the team a bit closer.

The Rockets team is kind of old. Nine of their top 10 minutes-played players are 28 or older THIS YEAR, and five of them are 32 or older. In a year, maybe two, this team will need a complete overhaul, with only Capella and Harden remaining, and Harden will be 30+ with 29,000 minutes on his odometer. Not a great look for a team that'll need five new rotation players.

Harden's having an all-time great year though; good for him. He's in his prime, and Houston's the favorite to win this year. Good for them. Dynasty is funny to me, because so much of the structure of the TEAM is built on some well-aged cheese.

That's fine, but being that it's posted by the same ip address. & they're both opinion pieces on the same topic..
Shouldn't the threads be combined?
Something like.
Love, hate, opinion on rockets chances in the playoffs.

Could do that. Maybe "Rockets: Champs, Chokers, or somewhere in between?"

mods should move these Rocket threads by Rocket trolls to OT....this is a Blazer forum...Rockets have an S2 forum...any Rocket fan can always post in the around the NBA thread if they want to hang here.

You're totally wrong.

1 - Until recently, most people respected GSW even through their first championship. It's when they became entitled babies that people lost respect for them. Durant was icing on the cake...and the hate for him is separated out from the hate for GSW in general. I hate Durant way more than I hate GSW. As far as non-Durant players go, I only hate Green's antics (love him as a player), and Curry/Klay (especially Klay) are a bit nauseating the way they think they're god's gift to basketball.

2 - Hate for HOU started when James started bastardizing the game. Then the hate doubled when you got that whiny, dirty bitch of a PG this season. You've got two of the most bitchmade players the league has ever seen...you just need to figure out how to get Doc Rivers as your coach now. Prior to the Harden era, I don't recall much hate for HOU...I liked TMac/Yao (except for when we were playing them).

Don't underestimate the hate we have for Ariza.

The Triple Crown of NBA Honor in 1 season. First to do it since 2013 Miami Heat/Lebron. Enjoy continued mediocrity in the Pacific Northwest. A backcourt of Lillard and McCollum will always get exposed on defense in the playoffs. The Blazers will never be a real contender with this core.

All,
I don't think @Rockets Dynasty will get this, but here's how I feel about this. I would rather be the fan of a team that NEVER makes it past the 2nd round than become an asshole.
I'd like to think that the Blazers winning a championship would not cause me to become one. Hopefully, we'll find out. But, I will stay loyal to my team regardless of
how well they do. I am not a bandwagon fan, and I don't go onto other team's boards to create threads in order to troll them.

#BlazersFan4Life

p.s. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy looking at other team's boards and reading the meltdown :)

The Rockets are crazy good, congratulations. However, it is clear that you have no clue what it's like to be a fan of a small market team. In no time in the history of the game has an allstar said "I'm not re-signing with you, if you want to recoup any value for me, trade me to the TrailBlazers." We also lack millions of fans from China propping up our team. Finally, we aren't fans that tune in only when our team is one of the best in the league, and fall back on a Football or Baseball team otherwise.
