Rockets trying to trade above us to get Drummond/Lillard

Using a smokescreen (Drummond) on our smokescreen (Lillard)

I love this time of year.

Does anyone know who they really want any more? Can they actually draft someone ironically?

Doubt Lillard is a smokescreen at this point.

I'd be PISSED if we went for Rivers at 6.

I can't see it happening, but I'd be pretty happy with MKG. Not so much if it were Barnes.

Well whatever Houston does I just hope the Blazers don't panic and try to make a stupid counter-move just to make sure they get Lilliard -- chasing the draft in Olshey's words.

"Portland gets the #1 pick! Anthony Davis falls to #2!!!"

MKG/Drummond is my dream draft.

Batum
MKG
Aldridge
Drummond

Nash at PG for a quick fix. Wouldn't want to face that team in the open court.

Nash - Nolan
Batum - Wes - Elliot
MKG - Babbitt (eh) - Wes
Aldridge - Hickson or Freeland
Drummond - Joel (would certainly teach Drummond how to hustle the f#ck up)

If we get MKG, maybe even package Batum or Wes and change for a legit starting PG.

How do you expect to get both? There is no way Drummond falls past Detroit.

Like I was saying, MKG/Drummond is my dream draft - didn't say it was plausible.

I don't expect it. Unless we could package #11 + some trash for 7,8 but very, very doubtful.

My dream is a rather unpopular one. My hope is for Drummond at 6 (assuming Robinson is not there).

Houston Rockets point guard Kyle Lowry sees the writing on the wall and expects to be traded in the next 24 hours. The only question seems to be where he will be traded, with Sacramento and Toronto looking like the current frontrunners. The Rockets are looking for a lottery pick, either to use themselves, perhaps on Andre Drummond, or to sweeten their offer to Orlando for Dwight Howard.

Additionally, sources close to the situation tell HOOPSWORLD that the Rockets already have a deal in place to re-sign free agent point guard Goran Dragic, which would explain why they are so willing to deal Lowry.

Good, I hope that is correct....take Drummond or Lillard at #5 and let MKG or Barnes drop to POR...fantastic!!

I'm hoping that Robinson is the one to slide (doubtfull). For some reason he's the guy I am most excited about, even though I admit I don't have the full book on any of these guys.

If they move up, I sure as heck hope it would be for Robinson or Beal.

Agreed with the last two posters. Amen.

Robinson or Beal would be huge for our roster. If not, I'm cool with Lillard. I'd expect, barring anything crazy or any big moves, any of those 3 would start this year so we'd probably shape free agency around who we get in the draft.

1. Isn't that illegal?
2. If they have, then Dragic needs to fire his agent. What if another team is prepared to offer him twice that?

I'm curious about this as well. But we did extend Camby right at the end of a season so who knows??

Quiet illegal. If there is any evidence to support it the rockets are gonna get REAMED. Lose of draft picks/cap space isn't that what happened last time it was found out?

Are you drunk?

Just askin'.

More like confused on my facts, I remembered the Joe Smith signing from Minnesota and thought it was the same thing. Forgot it was a behind the scenes deal to get around the Cap not an agreement between a team and the FA before they are supposed to be able to talk. Still is illegal for the Rockets to work out anything with Dragic.

Just some wording and spelling... That's why I made my comment, but I was joking.

But I'm still confused, cuz we signed Camby at the end of a season, when I thought you could not. So I need some clarification

The Rox may not have done anything wrong - it could be that Hoopsworld and their reporters are retarded.

I don't think the deal would be illegal; but it's not binding on either side and Houston takes the risk that Dragic could back out of it.

We didn't sign Camby we extended him. It was also the last day we could (apr 20th) so not sure exactly why.

Exactly. There's nothing illegal with negotiating with a player you already have under contract. What would be illegal would be if any other team had worked something out with Lowry.

the Rockets don't have Dragic under contract. He's an UFA and they don't have his Bird rights.
