Roco trade ideas?

i dont see ATL giving him up that quickly even if they have a ton of wings ahead of him.

NYK otoh needs a shakeup and a wing. Reuniting with Thibs could be exactly what Roco needs. I'd take any of their young guys or a pick with salary for him. Kemba + 1st for Roco?

I HIGHLY doubt we can get a 1st. If we can get a first we should take it yesterday. Probably looking at Kevin Knox + Taj Gibson/Kemba. Taj would get us under the tax. Kemba would not.

Also I would hate to take on Kemba's 8M next year for no reason.

Reggie Bullock + Josh Green? Dwight Powell + Josh Green?

The options are endless......endlessly bad.

Serge Ibaka + Jason Preston for RoCo + Elleby gets us under the tax.

This is depressing.

Would the Lakers trade THT + One of the minimum contracts for RoCo?

Taurean Prince + 2 2nds. This doesn't get us under the tax but I'm sure Minny would trade 2 seconds to get RoCo back.

Layman + Bolmaro + Okogie? Blazers will take any sort of athleticism at this point.

The play is to try and get a guy who is under contract next year and kick this can a little further, hoping we hit.

I think Saric or Will Barton are the 2023 FA nearest his salary range that we could possibly get some traction with.

They (or at least Lakers fans) view and value THT the way this forum values Little. And from what I can tell, the Lakers organization considers Horton-Tucker to be an important future building block. I think they overrate him, but even then, they're not trading him for the broken-down shell of Covington and they shouldn't.

Covington/McLemore for Bullock/Josh Green gets us under the tax, kicks the can 2 years with Bullock (3 year/30M), and gets a young player to boot. Josh Green sucks but it's whatever. Chauncey seems to do better with the younger guys. Bullock also sucks, but like you said, it kicks the can down the road, and also he does something our other guards can't do, and that's get around a pick.

Moses Brown instead of Green also works. I'd be fine getting Moses back.

I don't think you could get Will Barton though without attaching yet another 1st, although Dame would love having him back. Plus Barton can handle the ball and pass a bit, even if he's got a bit of MeJ in him.

I've seen their recent opinion on THT and it's not great. Check his stats.

I'm going to draw your attention to some key stats.

1. Ant and RoCo to Indiana for Myles Turner
2. CJ McCollum and CJ Elleby to Philly for Ben Simmons
3. Nurkic and to Charlotte for Plumlee and Bouknight.

Sign Trevelin Queen out of the G League. He's a better player than McLemore, Snell or Blevins. Sign Alonzo McKinney our of the G league.

Dame / DSjr
Powell / Bouknight / McLemore
Little / McKinney
Simmons / Nance
Turner / Plumlee / Zeller

I don't think the other teams would necessarily be on board but we really have no idea how our guys grade out with them. I do think the Simmons trade would take picks added. That being said, if we could roll out that starting lineup with Nance as our sixth man... I would be really excited.

In the Philly trade maybe we can reroute Bouknight there as he just was a top10 pick so he should have a value probably better than one of our future firsts.

I bet teams like the Lakers and Nets would love to get him. But they wouldn't have anything to offer, really.

I think you guys didn't read my post carefully enough. I didn't say I think Horton-Tucker is as good as Little, I said that the Lakers seem to consider him a key young building block. I also said I think they overrate him. But even overrated, even not as good as Little, he's worth more than Covington, a three & D wing who's neither shooting particularly well nor playing defense well.

The dolution to weak defense is EVEN LESS DEFENSE
ya but bogdanovic is a terrific 3pt shooter with volume. and he's a better defender than roco. that deal would be a no brainer (we'd have to throw in a filler like Snell/Zeller/BMac)

I'm not really sure why the Jazz would consider that deal. Unless we give them a pick or something.

I don't know why WE would do that. The 6 million in additional salary is actually like 12M after luxury tax payments.

We'll end up getting four 3rd round draft picks for him.

At this point, I'd think anything more than a dump to get under the tax would be gravy. I don't wanna watch this lazy bum play 30 mpg anymore. Nas is better than him and Nance needs more play as is.
But if you're lazy, isn't getting 30 mpg the best punishment? Give him 48 mpg!

RoCo is a low-risk, high-reward trade for contenders who already have plenty of scoring. So:
Nets
Bucks
Jazz
Bulls
Sixers
Hawks
Either LA team
Mavs
Celtics

Which ones have anything we want, even picks?

(Note that dumping him is an admission, as if we needed it, that we are not contenders. That's so last year.)

I made suggestions for all those teams. It's all pretty bad.

To Chicago for white and Troy brown?

Anderson's kind of fallen out of their rotation it seems (unless he's injured), plus they're stocked at 3. Covington would look great next to JJJr in a smallball lineup

"
[Charania] The Chicago Bulls are signing veteran G/F Alfonzo McKinnie via hardship exemption, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium . McKinnie has played for NBA G League’s Mexico City Capitanes this season, averaging 24.1 PPG and 43.3 percent from 3-point range."

I like RoCo for Nesmith (and maybe a pick). Nesmith barely plays, is under contract for two more years after this one, and Boston has a TPE so it would get us so far under the tax that we wouldn't have to worry about it the rest of the year in other trades or signings. I think Billups could fix Nesmith and turn him into a decent 3 and D player.

I also like the Chicago idea if we get our first back, just not sure how to make it work as easily without Chicago being able to take on RoCo's contract like Boston can.
