If only we had @LayneStaley and @Jade Falcon as co-GMs.

I don't doubt it for a minute. This is yet another example of why I have gone from Stotts supporter to Stotts critic. I don't know why he got down on Layman to begin with - but he refuses to change his mind.
Based on what the Lakers gave up for Bullock, the Blazers overpaid a bit.
Would you have done Trent and a pick for hood?Based on what the Lakers gave up for Bullock, the Blazers overpaid a bit.
I wouldn't because I think Trent is the future and maybe in the rotation starting next year but of course it depends on the off season what Olshey does with this team.Would you have done Trent and a pick for hood?
I wouldn't trade Trent for either but would've preferred Bullock over Hood if we were giving up two 2nds. Bullock is a better 3 point shooter and defender.Would you have done Trent and a pick for hood?
That's why I say, I see Connaughton trying to play PG. Same big body, same skills.
Mid season trades are not just made for playoffs alone but for possible roster changes either before the deadline or before next season. This trade for hood to me probably means one or more of MO/ET/AFA are gone at least before next season starts. Could be others too. What the move really was (if there isn't a follow up move) is a low key suppression of Layman's value so we can re-sign him for cheap this summer. I hate that shit but unfortunately it's a game some front office people play.
You may be right and if that's the case why use resources on someone who would be difficult to keep if they play well? Like I mentioned, Bullock we'd have bird rights for or guys like Prince and Saric have one more year on their rookie deals.Mid season trades are not just made for playoffs alone but for possible roster changes either before the deadline or before next season. Tobias Harris hit a game winner hours before being traded.I'd like to think that Olshey has something else cooking but if he did, we wouldn't have seen all of the normal suspects playing last night
I’m looking forward to watching hood play tomorrow.
After slowly plowing this idiot Jack Winter's ambiguous writing style, I'll summarize the theme to save you from deciphering the same:
The crappy author swings between saying that Hood should take the minutes of Harkless, and Leonard.

Whew. I'm glad I'm done reading this one.
Nothing groundbreaking here; just great to hear more brilliant exposition from our franchise's esteemed leader.
Never trust a slick salesman.Ughhh I knew he'd try to overhype Hood

Funny, I didn't think he was overhyping Hood as much as saying that Harkless (and maybe Layman) can't shoot.Ughhh I knew he'd try to overhype Hood

didn't he sign Stauskas for his shooting?
I just am not seeing a "Spin" here?Never trust a slick salesman.
I do think both of his deadline trades were positives for Portland though. I'm just going to ignore his spin and rely on my own judgement.
