I am working on a theory. In order to fully grasp it I need to ask a quick question to the conservative members here. Would love a couple of replies.

Yeah, but it gets worse as the rapist is in a relationship with the mother, who is pregnant with his baby AND while still maintaining his innocence. The mother was probably aware of this crime and attempted to cover it up. She should probably be charged as an accessory as well.

She took her across state lines, got the abortion and knowingly lied about her boyfriend being the father of the 10 year old's baby ( I believe the intake form stated the father was 17 years old).

Taking her across state lines is not a crime.

But yes, for the sake of the girl the mother should be investigated and charged if appropriate.

Again, there are no degrees of "worse" when it comes to a 10-year-old getting pregnant.

Sure there is. If the mother knew about this and attempted to shield the rapist, then its a degree worse.

Not to parse words, but i definitely think there is. Would you not consider the two scenarios as one worse than the other?
10 yr old kidnapped while walking home from school is raped and impregnated by an adult male who is a complete stranger?… or…
Mother watches and celebrates while boyfriend rapes and impregnate the daughter. Word gets out and mother takes daughter to abortion clinic to hide the atrocity and attempts to protect her bf?
To me, I see a crazed lunatic pedophile on the loose.
In the second I see sinister pedophile behavior
Attempting to pass on and spread their lunacy.
One would be an individual moving from target to target.
Another is possibly creating a pedoliphic (?) cult.

I would agree.... a parent being involved is worse. That means the child is not safe, even at home. That's definitely a worse scenario.

This is like the there are different degrees of rape argument. Rape is fucking rape. Raping a 10yr old is raping a 10yr old. This is a fucking horrific crime. Should an unknown rapist get a lesser jail sentence than someone who is known to the family? Reduced bail? Maybe the girl dressed sexily and was asking for it?

How about her friends who might come over? Or the soon to be newborn in the mother’s stomach?
Some atrocities affect more than one victim and this is could be considered more severe.
A mentally ill pedophile who randomly rapes a stranger 10 yr old should possibly be treated/handled a bit differently than a mother and her bf actively raping kids and attempting to create a cult, while trying to cover it up, no?
In this scenario, as atrocious as it is, there are more perspectives to take into consideration than just the 10 yr old. This to me makes it even worse than the mentally ill individual randomly raping.
 
So far as I know the mother was not a part of the rape, she called Children's Services. Mist child rapes are committed by someone known, family, neighbor, family friend.

What.... you're going to a whole weird direction.

Nobody is saying that there's a good rape. Nobody is saying that it's not a horrific crime. We are talking about the impact on the child, and having her own mother involved makes it worse. I'm sorry you don't understand that.

Yeah, the Democrats put that abortion pill stuff in there knowing full well that the Republicans would have to vote against the bill, thus making them even more exposed to the Dems’ plans to use it against them in the fall elections. Politics is a cutthroat business. Couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch of schmucks than the Republicans though.

Just for the record, I’m pro choice, at least until the age of viability. We’re not a theocracy and different religions have different views on when life begins. I’ve held two pre-term grandsons in the palm of my hand though and don’t appreciate the bunch of fetal cells argument, at least as far as late term abortion for non-medical reasons goes.

Parent, friend, stranger, it doesn't matter who. It's horrific for the child. Ranking which is worse is dumb.

I guess I just don't agree. Your parents are supposed to be the two people who you can trust no matter what. I realize that's not how it always works out, but they're supposed to love you unconditionally. Having your mother or father betray that trust is so much worse than a stranger. I wish you'd offer more than your flat statements.

I can't remember how old your daughter is but if you haven't already you will soon enough have to explain to her about good touches and bad touches. When you explain that to a kid you have to keep the message clear so it is easily understood. You don't teach a little kid that grandpa bad touches are worse than mailman bad touches. In her limited understanding of the world, she's not going to grasp your adult rationalizations or the degrees of violation she might suffer.

If god forbid your daughter was abused you wouldn't turn to your wife and say thank god it was a stranger and not your brother. Because no matter who abused your daughter it would be equally as horrific as you guided and helped in her healing.

No matter who abused your daughter, as a loving parent your reaction to it is going to be the same. If, as might be in this case, a parent is part of the problem and others have to step in, their response in helping her heal is going to be the same whether the girl knew or didn't know her abuser.

If you had to get help for your daughter you're not going to accept some arbitrary ranking by your insurance company that she gets only 5 counseling sessions because she was raped by a stranger but if she had been raped by a family member she would get 10 counseling sessions.

We're talking about 10yr old little girl. Someone who has a limited understanding of what has happened to her and even a more limited understanding of why her body is reacting to it like it is. In my opinion, there is no degree of horrific to this.

I guess we're just going to disagree, but I leave you with this...

When my daughter is hurt or upset she runs to mom and dad. We are her comfort and safety. Who does she run to for comfort and safety if it's the parents who committed the violation of trust?

I get that you're saying that all rape is bad, but you can't tell me that the trauma of a parent being involved isn't going to have a different impact to her than if it's a stranger. I just can't agree with that.
