Writing an "open letter" to Ron Artest demanding that he clean up his act and then emailing it to him seemed like such a good idea. Who could have guessed Artest would respond with, "Suck a cock"?

No law when it comes to me.
I let you type critics write and I just keep it hood.
That will never change.
I am not kissing no ones ass because I'm in LA. Suck a cock.

It was funny how he (the open letter guy) said

Let me be absolutely clear: you absolutely cannot mess this season up. You fail here, and you will never redeem your career again. You ruin this good thing we have going in LA, and the rest of your basketball days will be tarnished by it. In LA, we fans run deep. We know our basketball, we know our history, and we have more than a passing interest in the Lake Show. We will be here longer than you. We have more influence than you. Win us over, and you will be a Hall of Famer. Lose our faith, and you will never see this level of love again.

Yeah...Laker fans have more influence. Ooookay...

The whole open letter was a waste of time.

You should see the comments from other Laker fans on this guys blog.

That's freakin hilarious. Gotta love that response.

I don't care what anybody says, I still like Ron-ron.

I guess it has a lot to do with him being unafraid to be himself. Most players... hell.... athletes are afraid to say the wrong thing. Do the wrong thing. Look bad. Ron Ron is like.... fuck that.

Good lord he said Suck a Cock and this guy gets his panties all twisted?

I think the retort was deserved. That fan is a pompous ass.

Ron Artest is freaking hilarious. He's also crazier than Ross Perot on day six of a crank binge.

I always have loved Artest until he sold out to the Lakers.

I think if some lil' dipshit named Kyle Slavin, blogging away in his boxers in his mom's basement, writes me a letter essentially telling me it's his way or the highway, my response would also be - "Suck a cock."

Yeah, that 15.6 PER last year put Houston over the top, as well as his 12.5 PER in the playoffs.

Sorry, I didn't see where Nikolokolus said he likes Ron-ron because of him putting Houston "over the top". Do you have a link?

The problem is the letter writer is a nobody and Ron-Ron is a person who is in the top 200 in the world in his multi-million dollar profession.

If Ron-Ron want to drop down to the level of this writer, I think in a way the writer has won. Yes it is great to hear a player who isn't afraid to speak his mind, but R-R isn't the sharpest tool in the shed and there is a reason you won't see Lebron or Dwight Howard or Wade telling some idiot to suck a cock.

No, I'm just pointing out that Artest is an average PER player. Do you have a problem with this? He also has a history of beating the wrong fan for having a beer tossed on him.

Coming from a guy who has literally attacked fans in the stands (the wrong fan, for the record), I have a hard time seeing how this is response does anything for Artest's image. :dunno:

I think it further cements Artest's image.

Some players are able to change their image over time (Kobe) other players either don't want to or aren't capable of changing their image . . . I think Artest is unable to control himself and unable to change his image.

I think it's the 20% of the time we agree.

Oh I see. You accidentally hit the "quote" button instead of "reply", since your statement had absolutely nothing to do with what you quoted.

My mistake.

I misread nik's interpretation of "like". Want a cookie?
