This is bullshit.

I followed the Hoopshype link to a Hoopsworld article, which took quotes from an ESPN article describing Rondo's development from a cocky rookie to a leader of the Celtics. They took an anecdote that Doc related about a young Rondo and presented it as if Doc had said it this season. Compare what Hoopsworld wrote:

Doc Rivers expressed similar sentiments, which he directed at Rondo himself earlier this season.

"Do you know your teammates hate playing with you? ... The point guard has to be the guy that brings energy to the team. You can't be the guy that sucks it away. Your moodiness is affecting us. Change it."

With the quote(s) in their original context:

That wasn't always true. Two seasons ago, before the banners and the plaudits and applause, when Rondo was in charge of a team that won just 24 games, he'd throw a no-look bullet and when it was dropped out of bounds he'd roll his eyes in exasperation. If he set up a shooter for the open jumper and it clanged off the rim, the shooter was subjected to the Rondo stare, a look steeped in disdain and aggravation.

Rivers hauled his supposed floor leader into his office and asked him, "Do you know your teammates hate playing with you?"

Rondo displayed no emotion, but his coach's comments left him struggling to breathe.

"The point guard has to be the guy that brings energy to the team," Rivers chided him. "You can't be the guy that sucks it away. Your moodiness is affecting us. Change it."

Rondo retreated to his apartment to process Rivers' rebuke.

"It was a reality check," Rondo admitted. "I wasn't positive. If I threw a pass they didn't catch, instead of saying, 'Let's get the next one,' I'd make a face. It wasn't what I said. It was more my body language."

They're just trying to stir up a rumour out of nothing.

Hahahaha. This thread went from scary to hilarious very quickly. Rondo isn't going anywhere.

A source within the Boston Celtics organization insisted that contrary to reports, the team is not looking to trade point guard Rajon Rondo.

"Can he be frustrating at times? Absolutely. But no one is ready to give up on him," the source said.

"Whoever put the Rondo rumors out there obviously works for someone other than the Celtics."

The source said that the Celtics may have had some "very minor" conversations about Allen, "but he's not likely going anywhere, either."

He concluded, "My guess is some other team talked to (the Celtics), mentioned Ray in passing, and then the other team took it to people throughout the league who accepted it as gospel. That's how these things get started, and now Danny is going to have to get out there and refute all this stuff that he really had nothing to do with.

"Does the team need some tweaking? Most definitely. But there is no panic around here, and trading Rajon and Ray would be a panic move. That's why it's so absurd."

Props Chut. We can always count on you.

If that's true then the Suns would probably be looking to unload Steve Nash.

And you know this because? This is the first I've ever heard of this.

Except that, yes he is.

Yes he is. The most amazing thing to me is that he has all of this success and is being mentioned as one of the best point guards yet everyteam backs off him and dares him to shoot.. sometimes they roam off of him completely. It is ridiculous that he has all that when he can't shoot
