Roy: All NBA Second Team

Wade & Kobe will be first team guards. That leaves Chris Paul and somebody for Second Team. The only guard who comes close to competing for that spot besides Roy is Joe Johnson. Maybe Tony Parker. Maybe Billups. Am I missing someone? Roy should take that spot.

maybe... MAYBE Parker.. but Johnson.. not so much. maybe 3rd team with Parker (If Roy gets 2nd team) or with Roy (if Parker gets 2nd team)
 
Deron Williams?

But just like the all star game, I believe Roy will get in first.
 
depends if they take chris paul on the first team
 
I'd say Wade, Paul, Kobe, Roy and Deron are the five best guards in basketball. Roy has been better than Williams this year, so he should definitely get the nod for second-team.
 
All-NBA teams go by position - Roy is the 3rd best SG in the league - he is unlikely to make it to the 2nd team all-NBA unless someone decides to write D-Wade as a PG next to Kobe in the first-team.

I forgot about Dwill.. maybe I would have him on 3rd team with Paker.

Are you sure? not saying you are wrong, I just cant really check right now at work, but I thought it was like All star teams, and all rookie teams where they just had guards, forwards, and a center. But I could be wrong.

Edit.. Ah found something.. kind of like 06/07 team had Dirk and Duncan at Forward spot.. Dirk wasnt a SF

I thought so - but looking at last year's 2nd team I notice that D-Will and Steve Nash are both on it - so, maybe not...

Amyway, if D-Wade is bumped to the 2nd team Roy can play PG next to him - and we already know he can play SG next to CP3...
 
I think Roy should be on the second team over Deron and Parker.

Wade and Kobe will both be First Team. That opens up Second Team for Roy.

It's not broken down by point guard and shooting guard, it's just 'guard', 'forward', 'center'
 
Roy is a superstar. San Antonio, a great defensive team, simply couldn't come close to stopping him. He's just remarkable.

third team guards will be deron and parker.
 
The ESPN guys didn't even mention Roy in their second team discussion... it was only DWill and Parker.
 
You have to do something good on "ESPN" in order to get mentioned on ESPN. This was by far our biggest nationally televised win of the season!

Biggest national win yes for the team.. but individually for Roy, the Houston game and Phx game were bigger IMO.

Deron Williams is soo annoying! Probably cuz I hate the Jazz..and I no way Deron got snubbed from the ASG..

To be fair, we were being chewed up and spit out by San Antonio at the time.

...maybe if that conversation had come in the 4th when parker was a brick machine and Roy couldn't miss, the answer would have been different. But at the time, Parker was totally outplaying Roy.

What about our win over Houston? Or when Roy scored 52 against the Suns? Also- we beat the Spurs on TV for our first win of the year.

Paul should make the 1st team. Dude has had as good a year individually as anyone in the league and certainly better then Kobe. If it's about team success in the voters eyes, the Hornets have a much better record then Wade's Heat.

Parker has had an outstanding year as well. I could see him making the 2nd team maybe bumping Roy. Regardless, making any All NBA team is a tremendous achievement
