It's just a blast watching the best SG and best C in the league tear the hearts out of those old fuckers, isn't it? We are going to hear so much about that pick and roll this year.

I know Drexler is a homer broadcaster, but as a lifelong Blazer I feel he'll be fully justified when he will say this tandem is maybe as good as he and Olajuwon were when they won all those championships in Portland.

Wow they are tearing them up. I'll be much happier to see them rip up OKC.

I thought we traded oden for duncan? Guess I havent been paying attention

Wow, Howard looks mobile! I haven't really taken a look at what the league looks like yet, but I'm penciling HOU in as #1 in the West, and best-suited to give MIA a run for their money. Howard has never played with anyone half as good as Harden.

haha. I hope Howard tears it up this year. Fuck the L*kers.

I assume you mean Kobe was not in his prime? You have to admit Kobe in his prime is better than Harden.

Yes. I was kind of joking. But it was certainly a barb thrown at Kobe.

I was wondering what team I would hate with a white hot passion now that the Lakers are old and soft, and I think I've found it.

I think the emphasis should have been on the word "with." He played alongside K*be, but hardly ever with him.

I like Harden too much to hate Houston. I'm rooting for them.
Of all the teams in the West that have a shot at doing well, HOU and SAN are the only two teams I can really get behind. MEM to an extent.
My hatred for other teams remains pretty constant, and has nothing to do with whether they're good or bad. PHX will always be my most hated team, followed extremely closely by LAL.

My two most hated teams are the Lakers, by a landslide, followed by the Thunder. So, I'd love to see the Rockets with James Harden knock the Thunder out of the playoffs. I love it that their cheapskate hillbilly owners had a dynasty fall in their laps, but pissed it away because they were too cheap to pay Harden what he is worth. I'd also like to see Dwight have more success in Houston than he did in LA, just to rub Lakers fans' noses in it and prove that it was their beloved Kobe that was the problem last year.

As a Blazer fan, it only makes sense to hate the Lakers and the Thunder. I hate the Thunder more after having left Seattle than when they were an actual regional rival! Clay Bennett is a massive douche.

The Rockets don't really have a heated history with us, and both teams have gained from each other in the past (the Pippen trade, giving away Moses Malone). I'm cool with the Rox.

I don't get the Thunder hate. Sour grapes?

Fuck Dwight Howard. I bet Oden lasts longer this season than Howard does.

I hate the way their lying owners said they were going to do everything possible to keep the team in Seattle when the plan from the start was to move the team to cow town.

They instantly made us the most remote team in the NBA, by a long shot. Which means we now don't have any other team close enough for a road game road trip, and the team has to travel MUCH further than any other team in the league for their 41 road games.

NW Division my ass. We are the only team in the Northwest. We don't have another team in our division that's in the same time zone. Utah and Denver are both 1 hour ahead in the Mountain Time Zone and Minnesota and OKC are two time zones away in the Central Time Zone. It flat out sucks that we have to travel two time zones to play half the teams in our own division.

They need to realign the divisions. Pacific should be Portland, Sacramento, GSW, LA Lakers, LA Clippers. Midwest should be OKC, Phoenix, Minny, Utah, and Denver.

Yep, the current Western Conference divisional alignment sucks.

I remember growing up a niner fan and the "NFC west" at the time (late 80s?) was San Fran, New Orleans, st Louis, and atlanta...always thought that was weird

For me:

1. LAL
1a. MIA
2. Al Quaeda
3. NYK
3a. NJN (I don't fucking care that they moved to Brooklyn, they're the New Fucking Jersey Fucking Nets)
4. BOS (they may drop a spot or two now that KG and Pierce are gone)
5. DET (1990, dammit)
6. UTA (Give the name back to New Orleans, for cry sakes!)

Weird not a lot of Dallas on here, can't stand them

Minny
Dallas
Jazz

Kinda funny that Rocket fans want LMA for Asik and junk.

I know their GM tried this summer but Neil didn't budge.

Now add LA to the mix. Fuck, we were primed for a dynasty.

Lakers and any team we are playing.

If not liked I've always respected the Spurs.

D'oh - I totally forgot about the Thunder. I really hate them too. I suppose this is a case where my hatred for another team does ebb and flow based on their relevance. Because they are relevant and the Lakers aren't, I hate OKC more right now. My hate for them is mostly because of how they ended up in OKC, but also because I hate their hype, their name, their logo/jersey/colors.

Yeah, the Thunder have kind of supplanted Portland in the "Oh What Could Have Been" conversation nationally. But man, what could have been.

[Howard] will spend a lot of time at power forward this season, as well as start games at center for the Rockets.
Noticed this in the report on Howard in my fantasy league. Yikes - Howard at PF! Asik at C. That's gonna be a tough defense to play against. And what PF is going to be able to defend Howard? Surround Howard/Asik with shooters and that could be deadly.
