Bayless was already re-traded, is averaging 14 mins, and is shooting 35% so far.

He's had 1 good game, against the Clippers.

I agree with this. With only one Major League team our press is a bit overbearing. Not gonna happen but I wish they would give it a rest for a min or two.

Too late. He didn't do well in his first couple of weeks with a new team after being traded during the preseason. He's a lost cause.

Bayless has had far too many chances and failed each time. Can we please not waste time on some 22 year old veteran wash-out when we could be focusing on some 22 year old rookie with unlimited potential for our rebuilding phase? Thanks.

I think we should focus our energy on talking about the 22 year old washed out seasoned vet with knee injuries instead.

He wasn't too bad the previous two games. He got to the line 13 times in 33 minutes with 9 rebounds and 6 assists (3 turnovers). Even taking his 2-9 shooting from the field into account, I think that I'd take that kind of production as "off" games.

Actually, I don't think that I'd mind that as a game from a starting PG, now that I think of it. 15 points, 9 boards, 6 assists on 9 field goal attempts and 33 minutes? Sounds good to me.

I really don't fucking get you people who think it was shortsighted to trade a wildly inconsistent guy who plays awful defense for a pick, and play a wildly inconsistent guy who also can guard an armchair instead. Lest we forget, the guy who can't guard an armchair was talking about how tough it was going to be for him this season without all the minutes he deserved to get. And who the fuck knew NO would blow up like they did?

If you want Bayless back, fine. Great. Want him back. But the trade hs to be judged for what it was at the time, not in ridiculous hindsight "OH GOD! IF ONLY WE HAD BAYLESS!! then we'd be 10-8!!" Who the fuck wants 10-8? It's basically 8-10, but without the pressure to actually improve the team in the radical ways it needs to be improved!

And seriously, it's BAYLESS! It's not Chris Paul, Rudy Gay, or Kevin Durant. It's Jarryd fucking Bayless. If you're going to fantasize about some trade or pick that we missed that could also SAVE THE TEAM, pick one of them, not some backup backup PG who would get us two whole wins. If this is where our regrets lie, we're in more serious trouble as fans than the team is as a team!

Were you on the board when the trade was made? Many of us were lukewarm to the trade, at best.

And we certainly didn't have access to Roy's medical condition like the front office did.

The team needs to improve by adding young players that have good futures.

Bayless was one of the players and we gave him away... for what? So we could let Johnson be the backup PG? So we could give minutes to a guy who doesn't want to play in the NBA anymore? So we could keep Mills on the roster?

All of these questions were raised at the time, and the answers now are the same as they were then.

Two whole wins in 18 is probably stretching it, but that's 8+ games over the course of an 82 game season.

At what point would a single young player contributing to wins now get you to stop attacking how he's playing on other teams and/or stop defending the deal as a good one when (at least to date) it so clearly has hurt the team's chances?

I liked the Bayless trade at the time it was made and I still like it now. Bayless hasn't shown me anything that says he has a bright future in the league. And if he's going to, its going to be in Toronto. They have basically no structure in their offense and they are a free-lancing, uptempo team. He hasn't shown any improvement in ball handling ability, nor outside shooting in the league. So he'll basically always be an instant offense type off the bench that relies on driving to the hoop to score. Unfortunately for him he hasn't developed a floater and teams have been scouting him well after he had a decent stretch of games last year with the Blazers. Now teams sag off on him, let him drive and our waiting. I can think back to all the times that he drove to the hoop wildly, only to toss up a horrible shot that was well contested, throw the ball away, or get called for an offensive foul.

Sadly, its his 3rd year in the league, he's on his 3rd team and he hasn't shown any progress on the things he needs to improve on.

that's a no brainer IMO and it's best for the "team", but the politics" of it right now may stop it from happening
 
Roy is being honest, and most people don't like to hear what they already know.

23 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists 2 TOs in 26 minutes.

Looks like he might be on the verge of taking over the starting PG spot, although with Toronto it's tough to tell...

Martell scored 24 in a quarter once. Outlaw directly won several games for us. Why does anyone get traded? Because their present value is high and their future is uncertain, and turning that value into some other commodity is what is wanted.

I never liked Bayless, and I like Johnson and Mills, but I think it's silly to say Jerryd wouldn't be helping our team right now.

As much as I liked all the trades ,i think we traded away our bench ,didn't we, for some good rook prospects? BTW ,I have two 200 section tickets for sale to tomorrows game w/ Phoenix for 60$ (MGB'S) hit me back or at Barretts site or DM @Twitter -same Moniker.
