I've kinda wanted to see what Rudy could do in that role, despite his struggles of late. Personally, I could think of worse backups than him. Besides, he's played against Kobe on a bigger stage than this. That's not a promise, but it sure isn't working against him.

I actually think missing Roy for awhile could turn out to be a "good" thing in the long view. Let's face it, this team isn't going to be winning a title this year and is probably about 50/50 to make the playoffs (depending on a lot of different unknowns) to be honest I think Brandon covers a lot of "sins" for this team and without him I think KP gets a long hard look at his roster minus the straw that stirs the drink, so to speak.

Let's see what we've got, let's see some guys try to step up for more than a game or two.
