Whom do you think will be Rookie of the Year? Of course I'm tempted to say Boban Marjanovic or Nemanja Bjelica, but I'm going with Emmanuel Mudiay. They've clearly handed him the reins in Denver and his experience in China has prepared him better than his fresh-out-of-college cohort. I don't know if he'll end up being better than D'Angelo Russell (if he doesn't, I hope it only happens after Russell leaves the Lakers) but I'm pretty sure he'll look better this year at least.

If Mudiay doesn't win, I'm pretty sure it'll be because Towns does. But big men tend to take longer to look good.

Dark horse candidates:
Stanley Johnson
Bobby Portis
Devin Booker

ive been all about mudiay for awhile, dude is gonna put up numbers.

im guessing something like 17/5/7

Mudiay will also shoot 38% fg , a shit ft % and turn the ball over.

I'm going Kat or Stanley Johnson

Jerian grant is my dark horse

Mario Hezonja just got 8 points in his first 5 minutes of NBA playing time...

This. Somebody has to score for PHI. He'll get plenty of PT and plenty of shots. He'll benefit from being the best player on a truly crappy team.

Mudiay looked good last night, but he'll have to share the ball more in DEN with his veteran teammates than Okafor will have to in PHI. Mudiay gets penalized for playing on a less crappy (but still crappy) team.

Hmmm don't know if I agree with this at all. Mudiay will have the ball in his hands every possession and can produce stats while teammates are scoring.

Okafor needs ???? on the 6ers to set him up with the ball and get other players into position. The defense will instantly double team him leaving Nerlens Noel who can't shoot. Opponents won't be able to double Mudiay.

Also Mudiay team could have 10 more wins; voters don't want to give a player on the worst team in the league rookie of the year.

Much to my amazement, it looks like Porzingis has a real shot.

Yeah; they have a .500 record as well and he along with Melo have been their best player. I bet the zinger gets it with far less stats than Okafor as voters won't want to reward a player on the worst team in the league.

Wow looking over ROY history; guess who won two years after Larry Bird and three years before Michael Jordan.

Buck Williams.

Towns is going to easily win it. Russell might have a shot if they fire Scott sometime soon.

Besides the 3 bigs (KAT, Okafor and PorHolyShitzingis) this draft class looks pretty stale so far

Disagree. Winslow is a beast defensively. Hezonya has some flashes. Russell and Mudiay have both been effective at positions that are very difficult for young rookies. Russell is in a terrible situation with ball hogs up and down that roster and no finishers to pass to. Put him in Utah I think he'd look much better.

For lottery picks I'd say it's a much stronger draft than average. Compare it to MCW winning ROY this is far better.

KAT and Zinger look like possible MVP so I think their bright future dim the others.
